In fairness Casimiero looked a hell of a player last year, though he's nothing now. And the rest of that list? 16 players with an average speed of 40m per player, most of whom dont look any better than the ones they replaced, with how many other million pounds worth frozen out.

Yeah but even Casimero is a terrible deal because of the price and size of the contract. Guy is 30 & they paid £60m & gave him a 5 year deal on 400k a week.

Oh absolutely on Casimiero, it's just that unlike the rest of that list he did positively contribute at one point. There aren't many on there you can say that about.

It used to be a common joke among agents and clubs, that when Man United (and Chelsea under Abrahmovic and now under Boehly) became interested, the price instantly had a 0 added to it.
Hojlund will be an excellent striker, but, consider, for the price they paid for him, City got Haaland, and Julian Alvarez.
If anything, their football operations department hasn't really moved forward since the nepotism of Fergies days, and, it shows, as the 'hit rate' on signings has been appalling for them.

I’ve seen a fair bit of young Timo (another Stuttgart old boy) and there’s definitely a player there if you play to his strengths (i.e. don’t try and play him as an out-and-out centre forward, as Chelsea tried to).

Who’d join United anyway, they’re an absolute basket case.

Yeah, his workrate and movement off the ball were exactly what you would want in a forward, then it would all fall apart when he got a sight of goal.
