The demise of Leicester

Big question for me is if they will implode and become relegation fodder.

It's possible but with the signings they're making I can't see them being one of the three worst teams.

I doubt their fans will be too bothered after last season though - winning the Premier League followed by relegation whilst playing in the Champions League. I'd be delighted with that.

It wont be them fans though that will be their problem.... "we won the league last year, what's happening...."

Not long to go before we find out what kind of Leicester will be seen this year. There should be a number of teams out there this year that will take the Leicester attitude and use it against Leicester and the big teams - "Just because they are .... doesn't mean we can't beat them." My hope is that Leicester's title win leads others to believe they could do something similar.

I said part way through the season that, even if they didn't win it in the end, Leicester had shown to all of us that it was possible for teams outside the elite to have a proper go at trying to win the title.
I hope others have taken note and try to emulate them.

In a way the new tv deal takes the Premier League closer to a level playing field. £100m for every club takes 'the rest' closer to the elite clubs in terms of spending power, and it is certainly much 'fairer' than La Liga where the elite two negotiate their own seperate deals.

That's changing too though - a collective deal is coming in Spain.

I think Leicester will do pretty well this coming season, but last year was the perfect storm for them. They had the players, the tactics and the element of surprise to pull it off, combined with a settled team and no other competition to worry about.
