Was always likely that teams would target the likes of Vardy and Mahrez, and people have also noticed the contributions the likes of Kante, Schmeichel, Morgan etc have made to their success.

(Not counting the likes of Huth, because he is a seasoned Premier League player anyway).

The thing is, you don't know what loyalty they feel they have for the club (it was almost constant that the big clubs would target Matt Le Tissier, though loyalty in football is different these days and he was always going to stay) and if they do leave, you can be sure that Leicester would get big money for them, and secondly you don't know what contingency plans they have made if they do leave.

Spurs have been better since spending the Bale and Modric cash on improving the team though it took a while to settle in, and Southampton seem to constantly lose managers and star players yet improve because of it, because they have an overall plan and contingency to replace them when they do leave.

If Leicester do lose their star players, who were all obtained cheaply anyway, and obtain unknown replacements who are as good or better then nothing will happen.

I think they should stay tbh. See what they can do next season. They wont though and we'll cross Leicester on the way down next season :D

I fully expected to see the opening post to be...

They haven't won a game in over a month!

Its only natural for their players to be targeted after winning the League. The strength of their ambition will be seen by their ability to hold onto players and / or strengthen the team through purchases.

As soon as Nigel Pearsons team start to break up it's going to start the demise.

Kante was signed by Ranieri. But you can be confident that Walsh and Shakespeare were an integral part of Pearson's back room and they are both still here. It's often more the backroom than the manager which matters, which means it was more baffling why we were sticking with the likes of Rob Kelly for so long when doing badly.

Kante was brilliant for France and most people's player of the year for Leicester, can see why he's wanted. Truly the rebirth of Claude Makelele

One thing is certain, Walsh can spot a player. Aside from the ones they did sign, it's been pretty widely stated recently that they actually ended up with Mahrez when they went to scout Mendes instead, and we all know how good he could be - in a team which wasn't a complete shambles under the right coaching he would be at least a top championship player.

I think that whilst they are at the club they will be fine. Walsh will have dossiers on potential replacements for their key players if they are sold, knowing that the title win and championships this summer has put them in the shop window.

In reality they would probably get bigger money for them than if they did this in a non-Euros/WC year, because often players who star in a championships go for more than their actual value.

There's an obsession in some people who talk about "not rivals" Leicester. Multiple threads about them now. They've done something Nottingham Forest will never do, they've won the Premier League.

Any Foxes fan reading this must be pissing themselves laughing.

Won the Premier League, going to play in the Champions League next year and we're predicting their doom next year because their players are being targeted by top clubs? Even if they sell the likes of Vardy, Kante and Mahrez they'll get about £70m from the sales, on top of the £70m for winning the league and £100m for Champions League qualification.

Yeah, of course they'll be in demise next year.

Absolutely clueless and shows there is a level of dislike to them which we often claim we don't have, just like when so many were confident in December they would fall away when all evidence was pointing to them sustaining their push.

Give over, Leicester are now the top club in the East Midlands and it's not even a close battle anymore.

They are and i'm not bothered about their rise or possible demise.

Well done, Leicester.

Course they are the top club in the east midlands but its still all about Derby.

Still think they will be lucky to finish in the top 10 next year....and if they sell then its gonna be even harder

Hard draw in the Champions league then possibly the Europa league if they manage to win a couple in the champions league..... Chelsea City United all to massively strengthen top 6 finish would be my lay bet for the year for them at this point.

If there were a market id fancy a few cheeky quid on Raneri not making it to the ebnd of the season with the expectations now set.

"but we won the league last year and look at us now in 8th"

Derby have much more of a reason to dislike them than we do.

Let them have their moment, I doubt Vardy will leave but I can see Mahrez going if the right club came in for him.

God, can you imagine how let down they'll feel if they finish 8th in the Premier League? That'd be their joint 3rd highest finish in 50 years. What a let down!

Sounds daft doesnt it but i guarantee at some point on their forums next year there will be a post that goes along the lines of "but we won the league last year...."

I agree and also add that the new tv deal from next season is worth an extra £100m before a ball is even kicked. The gulf in finances between the Premier League and the Championship just moved onto a different level.

It would take some epic mismanagement of the club for Leicester to end up back in the Championship in the near future, and even if they did, they'd have a huge advantage to go straight back up compared to mid table teams like ourselves. To put the new gulf in finances in perspective, at our current level of income it would take nffc more than a decade to bring in the same revenue as Leicester will next season.

It's all about mid-table...
It would take some epic mismanagement of the club

We're a shining example how it's entirely possible.

I agree though, to make worse decisions over a period of time like we have would be tantamount to letting a 15 year old chav run the show.

My god. I thought the scarves were bad, but...

I really don't care what Leicester do or have done, but the football romantic within me hopes those players repay the loyalty shown to them for at least next season.
They've got everything to play for and if they do leave for more money, the fairy tale is dead.

Hedging your bets with Chelsea or Man Utd seems a better than Hull or Liverpool though.
