I think his legs have prematurely gone. You could see in the anguish in his face it was bad. Feel for him I really do.

Confirmed that it is his ACL again! Target return date is May.

Feel for him but I sort of knew this was coming even before it happened. Same with Dex

:(

Don't think anyone should kid themselves including ultimately Chris himself. The poor lad is pretty much not coming back. Surely can't put himself through the mental and physical torture. Get the lad doing his coaching badges.

hes just turned 27, sure hes had bad injuries, but thats no reason to throw him on the scrap heap, multiple ligament damage isnt as big a deal as it used to be

Its the third season in a row kid. We shouldnt have rushed him back, but unfortunately its not just the injury, it whats in his head as well. Reckon he will give it one more go, but if it happens again that will be the end of his career.

I have read that experts say that the reason ACL's reoccur with no contact much like Cohen on sunday is because athletes come back too soon and don't give the surrounding muscles enough time to strengthen the knee. Like I said in an earlier post multiple acl tears are not that uncommon nowadays across pro sports......Chris will be back I'm certain of it.

1: its not the third Season in a row "Kid", he did it the first time in the Derby game in September 2011, he came back in August 2012 and played in 38 games of the 2012/13 season and made another 16 the following season before re-injuring himself.

2: You have absolutely no idea whats going on in his head, apart from that he was absolutely distraught, he strikes me as a strong-willed guy, but thats just speculation, as is your postulating that he wont be able to mentally able to come back from an injury hes already come back twice from

Sorry pal, didnt mean to come across as condescending.

We'll see wont we. Only time will tell. I just cant see it myself.

I dont claim to know whats going on in his head, all I can do is put myself in his shoe's.

The lad must be distraught. Imagine how you'd feel.

Also, it might not be three seasons in a row, but the same injuries 4-5 seasons and each time he plays less and less would suggest its only a matter of time he hangs up his boots.

atm, could just be one guy making something up because the impending bad news seems inevitable, or he could be telling the truth, impossible to tell right now

Knowing the guy who posted the original message from Mrs Cohen, I'd say its 100% true.

fair enough, i dont know him at all, always sceptical of unverified sources on twitter! dont think its anything we didnt expect though, no point trying to rush him back for a few games in may

The simple fact is, he's going to have to change himself as a player if he wants another 5/6/7 years in the profession.

For me, this means he'll become just solid. He'll need to lessen the 'runny' attribute in his game and be a lot less springy all around the pitch, which means he won't have to turn as much.

I'm trying to think of a player he can become. All I can think of now is Peter Whittingham (ironically). Doesn't throw himself around. Just picks the ball up in the DM position and starts moves off. Maybe he can learn a lot from Reid too.

My huge fear is that this change will just worsen him, and he'll just become a higher League 1 player or something, when he could easily play in the Prem.

And another fear is, the psychological damage the pain will cause him on the pitch. Wanting to do things. Wanting to run to certain places, in certain positons - not being able to fulfill his match desires. It will get to him, and that may lead him to doing his ACL again.

Really feel for him.

I don't think mentally he'll change personally. It happened twice already.

If he wants to come back again he can and will do. He just needs to make sure he's 100% ready to come back and doesn't rush a thing.

I've had two ACL ruptures on the same knee and for that reason I'd say it'll be very difficult to come back from it a third time - although not impossible of course.

It all depends on whether it's a tear or complete rupture, whether the cartilage is minced and whether the bone has come away along with the graft. On my second one the bone came away so I think the likelihood would be that it has here too if it's a third time. I'm not sure how related his first two injuries were but they usually are in cases like this.

We'll just have to wait and see but regardless of his career he'll be hurting big time when he's 35.

He's a good lad so let's all just hope it's not quite as bad as it looked.

I reckon we'll see him go off to America for a few months or something, like Dex did. They always seem to sort people out.

Mr Steadman is the knee reconstruction 'go to' guy. I think Beppe Rossi is booked in to see him soon so maybe Cohen can get a twin room with him to save money.

Weren't his first two on different knees? As for hurting when he's 35... I remember Seth Johnson (ex Derby) saying he got 'new' knees as soon as he retired and now he's fine. With the money they have, they can afford top class surgery to help them avoid the same pains and trouble as the man in the street.

I'm not sure to be honest which knees it was.

As for new knees, I'm just waiting till mine is totally spannered and then I'm going for blades on both!

Will be gutted if it is a ACL injury but if it is no way can CC be seen as anything more than a squad player at Forest. No way can we be relying on him when his knee can go so easily.

I predict that Forest will time it perfectly and announce that Cohen is out for the season about 1 hour prior to KO tonight thus putting everyone in a miserable mood.
