The ‘I have something to say about Forest that doesn’t warrant its own thread’ Thread

First Team Squad
I went to a bbq (braai) is South Africa on the day Forest played Peterborough to secure promotion.
Obviously I had no hope of watching or listening to the game, but it turned out the South African hosts were massive Forest fans and and they had a radio setup that managed to pick up some muffled commentary so I ended up listening to the game.
Needless to say, we all got very very drunk!!

Once I saw some fat bald bloke with a forest shirt on at a local Trader Joe’s(grocer).

it was actually my father.

I have never seen a forest fan yet in California but I did once see some dude wearing a Leicester shirt at Uni.
When I went to Cali I wore some Forest stuff and it got a few mentions.

Went to see the Rams play Washington at the Coliseum and a guy said he'd watched a documentary about us, but he couldn't pronounce Clough properly 😂

Really comes down to my area, LA vs the central valley. I am moving to Sacramento soon so probably would get a few mentions there as it has a higher population of american football hipsters.

It would make sense that you’d get a few mentions in LA which could be a state all on it’s own, while here I have farmers.

A pal of mine living in Manchester reckons he seen someone in Manchester City centre yesterday with a United top on 🤔 I’ve called him out on it

When I was in Yarmouth a few weeks back, me and Geordie were taking a trip on the open top bus, we sat at the top enjoying the view.
As we were passing through Caister, I spotted three Forest fans, so I stood up and shouted YOU REDSSSSS!!! They shouted the same back to me. This resulted in a chap and his wife changing seats and they came and sat behind us. They were Villa fans. Had a good chat about Forest and KD9 etc. We ended up having a session in the pubs with some Leeds fans, celebrating that Rooney had just left Derby.

I realised halfway through that'd be largely irrelevant cus of how big Cali is (and we basically drove to and from LA to San Fran) but I still find the Clough bit funny.

I think California gives an idea of just how big the USA is because I think it's much bigger than the whole of the UK.

Has he singed yet?
Mrs Col is from Kenya, so was amazed to see somebody walking around in a forest top in Nairobi a few years back. It was back in the Adidas days.

He was probably lost, looking for the station for his train back to Surrey.

I have yet to spot any other Forest shirts in Stuttgart.

I do however live in hope…
Well if you live in hope, you're unlikely to see foresty shirts in Stuttgart. If you moved to Stuttgart however you'd have a better chance.

I have seen Spurs, scousers, Manure and Man City here, though, but my guess is they were tourists.

Wearing Football Shirts as leisure wear is not a massive thing in Germany.

Looks like my kid brother has had another couple of bets on Forest. He's always had a lucky streak in him.

He won a few hundred last season when he stuck £10 on Forest to get promoted after Cooper's first game at Forest, Forest 1-1 Millwall.

I use twitter to look for Forest related news, but some of the absolute shite posted on the #nffc timeline is embarrassing. Full of attention seeking morons.
I often see people moaning about the moaners, but rarely do I see the supposed meltdowns themselves. Maybe it's because I'm quite discerning in who I follow, so I don’t see the morons appear on my feed.

Like you I try and keep tabs on stuff and hope for news from the likes of Percy or Dan Taylor but you don't half have to wade through some tripe.

Genuinely it seems to have got more dramatic as well, for example not only is it a disaster drawing 0-0 with Barnsley in 35 degrees of heat it also categorically proves that we will fail to surpass Derbys 11 point season and meet them again next season.

Its not just that either, Yates and Henderson will be out for 78 years with their injuries, Richards has broken his leg in 96 places and also despite the analysts, Dane and Cooper having already demonstrated a willingness to sign good targeted players, actually they won't sign anyone and we will find it hard to put a first 11 out.

As a fanbase I bet we must look batshit crazy to the established Premier league twitterati!

I've tweeted about Forest a bunch of times, and I've only just started getting replies from people. It's nice to use the 'leave this conversation' option straight away 😂

As posted before, I only have a Twitter account so I can harangue Lufthansa when the business lounge runs out of champagne.

The #nffc timeline is quite often absolutely toxic.

Perhaps it's because I look at the general #nffc timeline, so I see everything posted with that hashtag (good and bad).

It's a double-edged sword; it's the best way to find news and transfer gossip, but on the other hand I get exposed to a tonne of idiocy as well.

sports timelines are always toxic, for any sport and for any team.

f*** me, have you seen the 49ers timeline? there was a HUGE UPROAR because some c**ks****r reporter with too much time said that our young exciting QB was having ARM FATIGUE. f*** off.

you can’t let twitter get to you, yes the majority of the #NFFC timeline is filled with debate lords who want to win one over you, just gotta let it pass! I see tonnes of dickheads in the replies to the final score against Barnsleh but there’s also a good bunch who understand it’s a preseason game.

I don't tweet myself, just use it as a glorified Forest newsfeed. I can't be bothered engaging and/or arguing with some of the idiots and lunatics that populate Twitter!
