4. We are targeting high quality players where the selling club has no intention of selling. Where we compete with multiple other clubs once a bid is accepted and so the whole process is a lot slower, but will come through eventually.
A bit like clubs bidding on Brennan. If he does go eventually, it wont have been a quick one as we wont be messed around for one of our stars. Drawing out that stage. If a bid is accepted, Brennan will be waiting to see what Villa, Brentford and us have to stay. Drawing out that stage too. Then we would want to spend/replace Johno potentially, looking into other moves before we allow Johno to go.
Deals on high quality players take an age unless you’re a top 6 team.
Hopefully an option with a positive spin

There’s clearly mixed views on the forum in terms of what is/isn’t going on with the Brennan situation, that really could be a factor. Potential 40/50mil sale and losing a key attacking option - kind of becomes a key element of our transfer strategy, alongside actually getting a keeper in....
