The league is there for the taking - invest wisely and play well and we will end the season with promotion.
We are 9 points off of 20th place - which would be relegation worries.
We are also 1 point away from the play offs.
This tells you the League is there for the taking and no team is excelling. We can get promotion this season but we need to start playing consistently.
Investing heavily does not guarantee success at any level, least of all in the championship. We need a squad of 18 players that play together every week, and can fully learn each other's game. Bringing in 6 or 7 new faces mid-season to a squad that is already comparatively unfamiliar with each other compared to other sides in the championship is a very risky move, especially when January inevitably leads to inflated prices and agent fees.
At this point last season we were five points from safety and had a goal difference of -19. Being one point off the playoffs at this stage is a massive achievement for Forest, everything considered.
Sacking the manager and probably the backroom staff mid-season is probably a great way of promoting consistency at the club, you're right.
