SOD: 'they think we may be worry about the opposition too much'

The league is there for the taking - invest wisely and play well and we will end the season with promotion.

We are 9 points off of 20th place - which would be relegation worries.

We are also 1 point away from the play offs.

This tells you the League is there for the taking and no team is excelling. We can get promotion this season but we need to start playing consistently.

Investing heavily does not guarantee success at any level, least of all in the championship. We need a squad of 18 players that play together every week, and can fully learn each other's game. Bringing in 6 or 7 new faces mid-season to a squad that is already comparatively unfamiliar with each other compared to other sides in the championship is a very risky move, especially when January inevitably leads to inflated prices and agent fees.

At this point last season we were five points from safety and had a goal difference of -19. Being one point off the playoffs at this stage is a massive achievement for Forest, everything considered.

Sacking the manager and probably the backroom staff mid-season is probably a great way of promoting consistency at the club, you're right.

But why sign 6 or 7 players.......... wise investment now in 2 or 3 players will see us promoted, provided we have a manager in place who plays to win, not to stifle the opposition.

In this respect even I would say Billy Davies was a better manager than SoD in terms of picking a team to win a game and not picking a team to not lose a game and then lose anyway.

O'Driscoll took Bournemouth, a League 2 team with no money, had to sell his best players every season and left them as a mid-table League 1 side.

He then took Doncaster, a mid-table league 1 side who had not long previously been in the Conference, and left them as a lower Championship side, despite having the lowest wage bill in the division.

This summer we were a lower Championship side. Take your guess where he would have left us had he been given the time. I know what I would plump for, based on previous experiences.

Looking at the team Mcleish fielded on satueday, I'd say that not taking into account Watford's quality/style etc. played a big part in our downfall. Seemed a very strange game to try and fit 3 strikers into the team.

If we'd played that 3 across the front we may have had a bit of width for their wing backs to worry about, or played Radi in the hole and give their midfield some defending to do.

We just looked a narrow disorganised mess as we were.

Scary when you think that SOD's "weakness" was worrying about the opposition - if Saturday was us only worrying about our own game then God help us!

Be interesting to see how Bristol City line up tonight. Watford look a silly price at over Evens imo.

I hope Watford win simply because we don't want Brizzle generating a decent run with us soon to go there, although I do hope they stay up.

Talking of odds how about 5/1 for Vydra to be top goal scorer seems like free money to me!

It doesn't really affect us. If we're going to catch anyone it won't be Watford. More likely to be Palace imo.

I think you just like to disagree with me! Lol

I do hope not, I've had an acca on Watford, Swindon, Mancity, Crawley and Stoke mate.

Ah well, at least several let you down and not just one. Easier pill to swallow at least.

Off for a pint with my winnings to discuss how bad a manager SOD is, and how much of an improvement Mcleish is

Don't let the fact that Watford dropped six players stop you slagging AMc will you ?

So Watford's manager changes a winning team and formation, and loses badly.

Hmmm. I've heard that one before somewhere.
