SOD: 'they think we may be worry about the opposition too much'

And O’Driscoll revealed: “We asked the players their opinion after the Watford game and they think we may be worry about the opposition too much.

I'm glad we are not the only ones who think so. We need to stop setting our stall out to counter the opposition. Why was Moussi even playing? we should be playing our strongest line up every game. SOD needs to realise he isn't at Doncaster anymore.

It could well be a mentality that set in during last season. We were, quite frankly, on the back foot for pretty much all of it. Grasping for every little vital point that we could get our hands on. We were lax at the back and shy up front so a lot of the time we were probably trying to work a defensive act and being cautious to make sure we grabbed enough results to keep us up in this league. If that is so then it may take a while for that mentality to be fully shaken off.

I think it's great that we have a manager who talks with so much honesty, I also think this is now time for the players to walk the walk so to speak - it would appear o'driscoll is going to let them have a go now after reigning them in for a bit, I'm not saying he's been right to set up against other teams to counteract them but could at least see the logic, especially after reading his programme notes, maybe an attitude of as long as we are within touching distance come Christmas was behind it, now we are in the second half of the season it's boom or bust.

Psychologically it will be interesting to see who benefits from this latest sound bite and change in tactics, he's almost told them they aren't good enough and given them a point to prove, let's hope the boys make o'driscoll eat some humble pie.

HelloThor

Is it about my cube?
you can prepare to deal with the opposition but doing so by making changes to the team, and playing a formation you've barely used before is not the way to do it. players need things to be kept as simple as possible.

Mark Becchio and stop the crosses from the two wide men. Close down Tonge to stop him shooting from long. Don't let their dirty tactics get to you. That's about it for leeds.

For Leeds we just need to play our passing football, Chelsea showed that in mid week they are shit at the back and if we pass them off the park it will be another big score.

I wouldn't have Becchio over Cox or Sharp, Tongue over Lansbury, or Green over Guedioura.

We have better players, they should be worrying about us a lot more than we should about them.

They passed the ball forwards though, not just between the back 4.

Sometimes you do have to counter the oppositions threat, and use players that will expose their weaknesses. BUT this should be minor changes, ie play quick players against a team of plodders (If we had any). I can't help think that each time we try and counter 5 in midfield, the most effective way is to play someone like Tudgay up top as he is cabably of dropping into a 5 man midfield and does not cause us to play a completely different system.

was saying this weeks ago on here and certain people mocked. How ironic from iconic SOD

So he's finally admitted it then. Perhaps we can actually play our best line up now and best formation and try and win games, with some belief in ourselves. Without belief you have nothing

If we do that and lose, people will moan about him not setting up to counter the threat of the opposition

It was me that said it first and then everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

I think I should be manager of NFFC. I'm in the top 1 managers in the country.

So the chairman knows, the players know and the fans know

Just seems the only man who doesnt is the bloke from Donny who had little option week in and week out but to try and stifle the opposition

Surely this is not what a well funded manager should be doing
