Snatchday 1: Nottingham Forest Vs the PGMOL

This is fake, and a made up quote. Halsey went legal against it, and gets reposts taken down.

Again, we all need to come back to reality.

And it'll be a hundred times worse if we do go down

If we go down, this will define the club for decades.

We won’t bounce back, and for decades to come, long after we’ve faded back to irrelevance, you’ll see posts like:

“We were screwed in 2024”

“We shouldn’t even be in League One, PGMOL screwed us 14 years ago”

“We got enough points on the pitch to stay up, but the EPL didn’t want us, so took points off us”

Very much like Huddersfield (who obviously have the right to feel aggrieved with the PO final). And dare I saw some of the incidents in our past which we bring up at any opportunity.

It’s a quote, and it’s made up, so therefore the quote is fake.

Being told to say he missed an incident after the fact, is very different to the fake quote which alleges spot fixing at best.
If you read my previous posts you will see that I said the second part of the quote was of dubious origin. The first part holds true and once a ref is mandated to not do his job correctly. Why would he be even told to do that? Does that not tell you something?
Huddersfield had a lot of other stuff going on, losing their best players and manager and then some really bad decisions.

I’ll leave it there, I just don’t think it’s healthy posting that screenshot, it fans the flames for the wrong reasons. Halsey in 2013 has no relevance to our grievances currently.

Should there be more transparency with refs/PGMOL? Yes.

Do I believe that one day some scandal will come out? Yes.

But PGMOL aren’t out to get us, and by sharing fake quotes like that, it riles up users who believe it’s real - to whatever percentage.

Do I think it’s bad if what Halsey alleged back then is real, yes, but comes more back to transparency and accountability.

You could easily imagine that Halsey saw Aguero’s elbow and thought it was an accident, only for him and PGMOL to see later he had it wrong. In order to try and correct their mistake, they misjudged it and went down this route. Again, bad, but not to the level of spot fixing or some grander agenda against Man C.

Do they though? We were completely f**ked over by the ref in the Bournemouth game a couple of weeks before.
Had we won that like we should've then we would've been in the automatic promotion place & Bournemouth would've been in the play offs. So maybe the questionable (at best) decisions in the final were the karma that they keep bleating on about still, 2 years later

Incidentally, I'll give you one guess who the ref was for that Bournemouth game.........

I don't think there's corruption in terms of illicit backhanders, deals etc

Corruption doesn't have to be in an overt form like that.

It can be as simple as the top brass at the FA leaning on PGMOL to give more decisions to the top six clubs in order to ensure the most marketable clubs remain the most successful. They have a product to protect and that product is based around the top six. It's in the FA's commercial interest.

Only partially

Oh and look, a certain Mr Neville "I’ve spoken with Mark. Verified the statement. Huge problem!!!"

But how dare Forest question VAR. Know your place, Forest.

Out of interest why do Huddersfield have a right to feel aggrevied?

Toffolo dived and O'Brien's was a bit either way as he stepped across Lowe to invite the contact. That's happened plenty of times since in this league and no penalty given.

And even if he did get given the pen, who's to say they even score it? Forest were the better team that day and the better team Vs them in all four games we played them in that season.

The right team went up.

There is no league in Europe where top clubs are not favoured by refereeing decisions, blatantly or not.

Yep, right team did go up, and agree with everything else you say.

However if we were Huddersfield fans, we’d feel absolutely screwed over and aggrieved that we didn’t get those penalty calls. Especially when their team got dismantled, lost their manager, and ended up in League one 24 months later.

We’ve gone nuclear after three “stone wall” penalties against Everton… we’re not 100% sure we’d score them, I’ve seen those handball calls given/not given etc, and we clearly feel aggrieved at the decisions.

Not saying I don’t think they were the right calls, I do, just that if those calls go against you as a fan you feel livid.

Can't Play Left-Back
It's not just this forum, there's a whole victim mentality coming from, and surrounding the club right now that massively doesn't sit well with me

And it'll be a hundred times worse if we do go down
I saw a great quote from Jimmy Carr the other day about attention and how people get it:
1) Be really good at something;
2) Be notorious;
3) Be a victim.

Well Forest aren't 1, so are hitting 2 and 3 very hard. I think there's some justification for it (to an extent), but it's exhausting as a fan. I'd much rather we got better at football.

Also it is only recently, probably back end of last season and certainly the first half of this season, that penalties like Toffolo’s certainly have been given. At that time a player running at a player and enacting contact and going down. Even LOB was debatable by the standards of two years ago not now.

They started it with their reaction to the fireworks and saying they were saving themselves for promotion, wankers 😅

To give the owners credit, it's worked.

Our fans are moaning about the PGMOL and pushing illogical conspiracy theories rather than the fact we broke FFP rules and have been docked 4 points.

Had we not broken FFP then we would be all but safe from relegation by now.

Not necessary. The principle of FFP is that we have benefitted from breaking the rules and have gained more points because of it, Hence the deduction.
