Given Coopers history with “difficult” players - Spence as a prime example - I can see the rationale here.

Also, whilst I get people will say we can use Biacone as cover, what happens if Neco breaks his leg (ahem) and our primary creative threat down the right disappears for 3-6 months? The club want 2x starters for each position.

Hmm. Ok. Hopefully Cooper can sort out his attitude, because there's a hell of a player in there if he can quit acting like an absolute bellpiece.
^^ That. He has massive attitude problems, when at PSG, he was banned for three matches for insulting Referee Bjorn Kuipers in a European match, he was fined after levelling a homophobic insult at then-coach Laurent Blanc, and he also managed to fall out with Angel di Maria and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, resulting in him being sent to play with the „B“ side (PSG‘s reserves).

Incidentally - a trivia item - he was given his debut for the Ivory Coast by none other than former-Elephants Coach, Sabri Lamouchi.

Can play left side too apparently, although his stats from left back/midfield are nowhere near as good as from the right.

Interesting one - hopefully he's in now as cover for right long term and to compete for left until Richards is fit? He's got a bit of experience at centre half too though I doubt he'll feature there for us.

I might be in the minority here but I think this will be a great signing .

On form, he will push Neco for a starting role for sure.
I'm with you, I watched a fair bit of spurs when he played for them and some days he was immense but obviously he always has an error in him, he is a decent pick up for a free back up option though.

This deal is OK in terms of commitment from both sides and he provides cover for us, I don't see him as a regular starter.

I suspect that if he turns his knobhead mode on we will see him leave in January, not saying its likely but I don't think many will be getting his name on the back of their shirts (In 2025 obviously when Macron send more stock!).

He’s a pretty good player, especially going forward, but is prone to the odd brainfart moment. I think he’d be decent enough backup for a year.

*I reserve the right to change this opinion the first time he ploughs through the back of someone in our penalty box for no reason at all.

Also people should consider he has the odd moment in a back 4. Wing back is completely different role and allows you to get away with a brain fart moment.

I think his mistake-proneness is overstated anyway, as others have said he is more than good enough as backup. Don't want a long term deal though.

Good luck if you get him! He's an accident waiting to happen. Runs like a mad turkey, dives in and concedes fouls in dodgy places. Nor is he very productive at the other end of the pitch. Why do you think Spurs moved him on? He's an athlete with limited self control. An average player who can lose you a game.

Cheers for the insight.

That's exactly the view I've always had on him from afar. Hope Cooper and Dane know what they're doing with this one....

He plays in the same position as Spence, doesn't he?

Instead of lying to him so you could sign him to sit in the stands, why not just let Spence sign for Forest in a deal that works way better for everyone?

Makes a lot more sense than us buying this chap.

Hiya, here’s a short video breaking down everything you can expect from the nutter that is Serge Aurier for those interested. Love watching him play and looking forward to seeing him in the Premier League again. Good luck for the game on Sunday, I’m really looking forward to seeing how it unfolds!

He's a free agent.

Spurs have zero say.

He’ll be a back up rwb for a relegation battling side so it’s a good signing in that context.
