He's an elite level finisher.

We're so lucky that Steve knows so many young, talented players who may not be reaching their potential from when he worked in the England set-up.

It's not a question of if we go up but when if we keep the gaffer.
I was thinking about this the other day. Coops has knows the lads who were 17 about 4 years ago from the England and a perfect age for to bring in now. Going forward I wonder if his ability to bring so many youngsters in will start to dwindle as he starts to put years behind his time in the youth setup?

I don't doubt for a minute he will have access to some good young talent, especially as some will be thrown at him to work on by clubs. Just an observation that his knowledge of the gems might tail off slightly.

Yes it could do, But knowing Coops he will be still receiving information and watching youth games in his spare time, Either live or via the internet.

Even if it does he's still the dogs bollocks in every other department.

He'll be England manager one day (yes I know he's Welsh).

Interesting one for me, clearly the lad can finish but the players we've brought in and the players our game is based around, mostly, have had physical traits about them. Davis with his strength, Johnson and Spence with pace, Worrall, Cook, McKenna and Yates all with aerial prowess.

Surridge an interesting one as he's not that mould. Not quick, tall but not a target man etc. Assuming Johnson goes in summer and Davis isn't kept then could he play alongside Grabban who again isn't those things either? We'd need to adapt.

Well taken goal today though and good first touch to get take it in his stride first time. He's doing everything he can to be banging on the door to get a place in the starting eleven.

You could tie a blindfold around this guy in front of goal and he'd still find the net.
The term clinical springs to mind, every goal he's scored for us, it looks effortless for him to do.

His intelligent movement and the timing of his runs is highly, highly impressive. Despite having a different style, in terms of his eye-for-goal he's a natural replacement for Grabban in my opinion, and for less than half the price!

And that’s also why we have employed all these whizz bang football stats boffins now.
I bet it’s like Bletchley at HQ these days…

We paid £2m and should the time come we have to sell we'll make a lot more!
However, I hope he stays with us and continues to mature into a top-notch Premiership talent.

Allegedly Stoke took a 3m loss when they sold him to us.

I would hope that any bids that only gave us a 3m profit would be turned down flat.

This ^ - he gets caught offside a fair bit, but some of his movement is outstanding and as others have noted alongside Grabban he's probably our best natural finisher.

I feel like he's has a great mix of being willing to work for the team and the arrogance of always wanting to score himself (and believing he will). Like I think he can be a bit of a wind up merchant too.

So far no complaints and looks to be a great signing.

Best finisher we've had since Assombalonga imo. Grabban overall the best striker we've had in 2 decades imo but I'd genuinely rate both BA and SS as better pure finishers, based on how easy they make it look.

The problem was a 2-way thing: Stoke didn't really play to his style and strengths, and he couldn't settle in Stoke and hated the place.
Other than Josiah Wedgewood, no-one in their right mind actually lkikes the place.
I knew a girl from Stoke,
Who seemed to be terribly "woke".
She said, with a grin,
as she wiped off her chin,
I thought on that I would choke.

To be honest stoke is Stoke. In the middle of a lap dance I actually had to ask the lady to stop as she clearly had just had a crap and not wiped her arse properly

To be fair in the Turkish league he is proving to be a quality signings the yard of pace he lost isn't so much of a factor

Surridge is a smooth mover, gliding over the ground and, so far, a deadly finisher. Somehow I think he needs to become a bit more of a sniffer in the box, but he's a pretty good CF to have.

After the Stoke lap dancing anecdote I'm not sure using the phrase ' sniffer of the box' is a great idea.
