Good as Sam is, it's laughable for West Ham to claim that his value has anything but depreciated in the what, 2 seasons they have had him?

Considering value is partly based on current ability and partly on potential, then he has probably stayed where he is in the former and gone down in the latter, because he's older so closer to his full potential.

Not to mention that he has spent most of this season out injured as well as having picked up a fair amount of injuries previously in his career, which would also decrease his value.

It's very rare a player who has spent decent sections of the last two seasons injured goes up in value. We made a tidy profit on Britt, despite his injuries, as someone was silly enough to activate his ludicrously high release clause.

If I paid £4000 for a car and hardly used it because it kept breaking down, then fixed it and lent it to my neighbour for £400, only for it to break down again so he had to give it back to me, I wouldn't have the cheek to offer to sell it to him for £4000.

Strong rumour from Twitter that West Ham have sold Byram for £750k this evening, no club named but suspected to be us.

Come from a West Ham Twitter page with 60k followers and that Ex-West Ham Employee also saying strong chance it's us.

£750k seems very cheap. But if he's on £25-30k a week and nowhere near the first team then West Ham might just want him off the wage bill.

Injury record is poor and he isn’t attacking enough. He isn’t a pacey full back that goes up and down. To get more out of adomah, appiah and Ameobi we need to that from our full back.

At £3m which they originally wanted, I wouldn't go near him. At £750k I'd rip there arm off. Apparently they're looking to add promotion clauses and a sell on. I guess with 1 year left on his contract, thats the best they can hope for.

What?

I agree about the injury record, but I can’t remember seeing a more attacking full back turn out for Forest.

The rumour comes from here:

I'd expect it to include add-ons and a percentage of sale profits if the quoted fee is accurate.

This would be stellar business if it's true. Fingers crossed.

Taylor isn't often wrong, especially when it comes to us. Shame.

A fit byram is one of the top 3 right backs in the league and it'll shit when we face him.
