Messed up for their goal, but he was our best attacking threat again. Not only is he the best crosser at the club, he’s one of the best crossers in the league. His dynamism going forward makes a huge difference. It’s hard to believe he’s just returned from a long injury.

It’s worth the risk signing him because he is such an outstanding player, and there’s not a chance we’d get him otherwise.

I think we should take a chance on him, if a move is feasible for all parties. He's only been in the side for two matches after a long injury layoff but already is perhaps the best player in the side.

Difficult one and rare to want a player back after sitting out 90% of their loan spell but looks to be worth the gamble.

Every chance he goes to a rival, hits the ground running and ends up on TOTY whilst helping take them up.

Think there will be a big debate around him this summer.

I think we should target others before him.

The concerns around his past are legitimate. At times since he has come back in the team he has been very timid in 50/50s. It has to be in his mind ?

If we finish pre-season with Byram and Darikwa as our options at right back then we should probably anticipate Darikwa playing 30 - 40 games next season. No disrespect to Tendayi but if that happens are we going to have a back line of sufficient quality to challenge the promotion places in this division? Signing Byram means we'll have to bring in a decent secondary right back to cover for the many games he'll inevitably miss... which begs the question why don't we just sign that other player in the first place? Any deal for Byram would have to be bonus heavy and rely on him actually playing competitively for Forest on a consistent basis, which based on his entire career history is sadly unlikely.

Going into next season with a first choice back line as sturdy as the packet of chocolate digestives Joe Kinnear forgot he had in his arse pocket is going to lead to us having another wasted season. What idiot at the club thought we'd get away with Byram - Dawson - Figueiredo making up three quarters of our first choice defence? They couldn't complete a full season's worth of games between the three of them. Hefele had also just missed an entire season through injury when we signed him.

Only time I remember him going in hard for a tackle was the time he injured himself against Newcastle. Hope we forget about him, especially as West Ham seem to want to sell, rather than loan him out.

I think full back / wing back are very important positions for us and we need quality upgrades in both. Osborn isn’t good enough for targeting promotion to be blunt but would be good as cover - he does a decent job of covering ground and pass-and-go but can’t really defend or cross a ball. Darikwa is nowhere near good enough.

Reminds me a bit of the Sam Hutchinson situation a couple of years ago. In that instance his injury history I think was what put us off. That was a mistake and I think letting Byram go if he wants to stay, would also be a mistake.

Hutchinson was different, in that he had effectively retired due to the injury for about 15 months, played a few games for us, then it came back, and he continues to get injured (only once - 33 - playing more than 25 a season).

Byram played 130 times in 4 seasons for Leeds, and was cover at West Ham, this season's the only real one where he's missed a load due to injury.

Thought he had serious injury at West Ham , which was how we got him in the first place.

He missed most of last season with muscle and ankle injuries. The season before that he was out for several months with a hamstring problem. The season before that he picked up an injury shortly after signing for West Ham in January and made 4 appearances for them. The season before that whilst still at Leeds he missed more than half of the games they played with a recurring hip problem.

The only time Byram has appeared in more than 40 games in one season in his career was his debut in English football, 2012/13... though I'm sure his injury record would magically improve once we signed him permanently

100% this, people need to start looking at Byram without the red tinted glasses on. He's a great player but not one we can rely on and I don't want another season where a key and vital player is lost because they are a biscuit.

I'm quite amazed that people want this signing, given our recent history with injury prone players. I'd like to think that the club has learned its lesson when it comes to signing players with a poor injury record by this point.

Quiffs coming on nicely, got in the way of his delivery today, it wasn't his best.

Very decent RWB on his day though, Id take the chance with Darikwa in reserve.

Awkward spot for the club, I would go after other players before him but keep him in mind.

His defensive skills are underrated, he's very hard to go past as an opposition winger and he put another cross in today which Murphy should have scored from but you can't overlook his injury record.

I generally agree but I don't see how it's red tinted glasses. It's about whether you want to take the risk on it.

Robinson came here with a dreadful injury record too but he has been a mainstay all season.
