Yeah, never ideal to get injured but in pre-season leading into the season when we're on a big recruitment drive is an especially bad time, if we sign a couple of midfielders and they start really well he's gonna struggle to force his way back in.

The only area I like to see consistent selection is the back line (including goal keeper). Assuming they are doing a decent job the understanding between them is most important

I think Yates will be a back up next season. You cannot fault this young mans passion and drive for Forest and he was hugely instrumental in our success last season but methinks he will be a second choice player in the premiership. Only Cooper knows though!

I've doubted the lad too much. He's had one season with a top coach and he was statistically one of the top championship midfielders. Maybe you're right and he tops out as a fringe premier league midfielder but I'm through doubting him.

Well if hes going to be a second choice player we'd better get a move on and get some CM's in quickly!. At the moment we barely have enough players to fill the midfield regardless of injuries!

I think we'll sign two more midfielders in addition to O'Brien. I think the competition will actually be really good for Yates though, he won't give his spot up without a fight. Yates, LOB plus two more quality midfielders will be a nice headache for Cooper to have.
