Still would like Forest to go in for Lutsharel Geertruida at Feyenoord - 30m could bring him in
That assumes a top flight club would actually want him after spending a few years playing in a retirement league. His stock will have dropped massively after having played at such a low level for that amount of time.Thing is, he could play 2 or 3 years, have some kind of get out clause and go back to Italy at 27 or 28 and try to win a few more things that actually matter.

He'll make a lot of money in the short term, but his long term career prospects will be severely diminished by this move.
I'm spotting a problem here StrumThe thing is for the Saudis, this sportswashing project won’t ever get into the top competitions - like the UEFA ones, because if UEFA have any sense, they would prevent any Saudi franchise from getting anywhere near their competition.
Oh. Wait.
I know, but they’d still have a close season window (in Jan) and a mid season window (in July) as would other leagues that run in our summer.Except that not all leagues are on the same schedule (see MLS)
I think people would certainly take a flyer based on past history. If (big if) players continue to get picked for the national team then they'll be no problem there. That assumes a top flight club would actually want him after spending a few years playing in a retirement league. This lad only has a couple of caps for Brazil to his name, so isn't established at international level yet. Don't think this move will do him any favours with regards to his international prospects going forwards, though I'm sure he knew this when he decided to take the money.I think people would certainly take a flyer based on past history. And the fans were singing"Grandad, what was the best moment of your football career"
"Well Grandson I once scored the winner for Al-stone a woman Vs Al-imprison a Gay in the Riyadh Derby in front 200 male members of the Saudi Royal family
Yep, it’s not retirement at all. He’s winning f*** all at Roma and likely not here in all honesty, so 2/3 years over there, still young enough to finish his career off in Europe. Jobs a good un for him.Thing is, he could play 2 or 3 years, have some kind of get out clause and go back to Italy at 27 or 28 and try to win a few more things that actually matter.
Roma won the Europa League 2 seasons ago and Forest got to the Semi-final of the League Cup last season...Yep, it’s not retirement at all. ...and we are going to Wembley in the FA cup.Roma won the Europa League 2 seasons ago and Forest got to the Semi-final of the League Cup last season...
Apologies - winners of the Europa Conference 2 years ago (and runners up of the Europa League 3 months ago).Roma won the Europa League 2 seasons ago and Forest got to the Semi-final of the League Cup last season...

You must lose some sharpness not playing at the top level. He’s not the finished article either. He’ll get more money but there is no honour in going over there. With Forest you would be playing in the land where football was invented (sort of), for a team with a big fan-base and illustrious history, and in a competition that is the most watched league in the world. The alternative is a vacuous mega money, yellow Bugatti, LV luggage vomfest
So he not exactly turning down or moving away from elite footballing achievements is he?Roma won the Europa League 2 seasons ago and Forest got to the Semi-final of the League Cup last season...
Other than the Saudi league and Saudi Cup, what other competitions do Saudi clubs play in?
Next move by the SPIL will probably be to force European governments to pressurise UEFA into admitting Saudi clubs into the Champions’ League.
After that they will allow all the mercenaries to take Saudi nationality and then buy the World Cup, winning it with their team of mongrels.
Anyone know how UEFA currently works as if the Saudi clubs wanted to join the ECL they'd need to be in UEFA.Other than the Saudi league and Saudi Cup, what other competitions do Saudi clubs play in?
