Re: Richie Laryea

Left wing back and coming in on his right.

From what I've seen of his highlights, it's very promising signs.

A shame Dane couldn't get Daryl Dike here but it seems WBA's manager (formerly of Barnsley) was able to pull more strings there.

Paid £8m for him whereas we opted to pay nothing for Davis.

That's what made the decision not who was talking to him. We simply couldn't match WBAs ability to chuck money at it

Agree with RealRed with regards to the Cpl players. It's still a very new league, with the intention of developing the game for when the world cup arrives here, so it's still finding its feet. I'm not saying that all the players are garbage by any stretch, but the standard wasn't great when I went to watch.

There's been at least one cup upset when a cpl team beat an MLS team, so it isn't a million miles away but I would think the MLS teams might poach the better Cpl players.

Re: Richie Laryea

The wage cap and lots of international players make the MLS a good league to look at for a club in our position. We saw how Barnsley managed to attract Dike last year, a club like them who work on peanuts would rarely be able to attract that kind of player in other markets.

Re: Richie Laryea

If that guy is a hidden gem, it seems he’s well hidden… he’s 27 in March and has never even played in MLS, let alone European football. For comparison of the level, he plays with a British lad who couldn’t get regular games at Nuneaton last year.

Absolutely zero chance of anyone playing in the Canadian league getting a work permit either, I’m afraid. This chap for example would score 0 points when you need 15.

The only Canadian players we will be signing will be either full internationals playing in decent leagues (like Laryea) or young players with British passports.

ah, forgotten about the points system for a work permit , what about richie's best mate cyle larin whose contract expire in the summer but he has premiership suitors. however , having laryea could help.
