More local train-news from Baden Württemberg; the state government has just announced the purchase of 130 new double-decker trains from Alstom, that will run on many of the new high-speed routes to and from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof.

Each train carries 380 passengers, and has space for 30 bicycles, and they look really cool:

Oh and BTW the southbound 10:37 train is now delayed by 3 minutes

Mention of Gedling and tunnels reminds me of those far off days when I first started to follow Forest. Living in Woodthorpe (Melbury Road when it was first developed and Somersby Road was just a cart track) we used to walk over the hill, disturbing the sky larks, past the orchard stopping to scrump a few apples, to the tunnel from which the trains climbing out of Gedling colliery would emerge. After each train had passed we would pop out onto the tracks to collect the coal which had fallen from the trucks. We were poor, but life was fun and we were alive.
Did you know Ned Ludd, duck?

Damn the British narrow gauge track, our train are pithy in comparison to Europe etc

Melbury Road in Woodthorpe, you absolute snob Vals

Anyhow a load of my family were grafting down Gedling pit at that time

Did you ever go in the Grey Goose for a jar or the Phoenix

No, 'fraid not. I was very young at the time, possibly why it all seemed so dreamy to me. We moved there in late 1948/ early 1949 when I was six and moved off to Germany in 1951. Came back in 1953 to sell the house because the renters had left it in such a shit state, my mother couldn't bear to live in it. That was my only time living in Nottingham, from that short time evolved my life of attachment to Forest, don't ask me why, it just seemed natural.

By the way, thanks to your family for the hard graft in digging the coal we so happily filched from the railway lines.

I was a barman at the Phoenix for a couple of years.

I used to live on Walsingham Rd back in the late 70's early 80's and fished for Calverton Colliery Angling Club at the time as my uncle Mick worked down the pit

Does this lad start today? If so who with?
Quite like sound of an O’Brien & Freuler partnership but how do you leave Yatesy out? Then youve got Mangala. Great problems to have.

If he doesn't start soon our season will probably go off the rails anyway.

I think if any of this chap, Yates, O’Brien or Mangala starts I don’t think anyone will have much complaints.

I would keep LOB & Mangala & change during the match accordingly.

What’s this all about?
‘H’ for humiliation more like.

I was hoping they’d have done a video of Scott McKenna taking Freuler for a round of golf. Could be a weekly mini-series.

Birds twittering, ‘er what’s your favourite colour Remo?’ ‘Black’. ‘Oh. Right’

Played 90 mins tonight in midfield as Switzerland won in Spain 2-1...

Yet can't get in the side ahead of Yates until last week and saw Colback coming on ahead of him 😆
I’m wondering if he’s got it written into his contract: Internationals take precedence (ie with World Cup coming up - are Switzerland in it?) hence his lack of ‘risk’ in playing much so far? Maybe we’ll see more after it’s over?

😂 the above was based on Premier Manager where players would get moody and ask for transfers if not allowed to be released on international duty ie quite legitimate reasoning 🤣
