Referee analyst ... really ?

I took the kids to the filming of the episode on tonight, it was recorded last summer
Polite explanation, for the second time.

I know that, it was a joke with reference to our ref analyst being unable to actually do anything tangible in these situations except explain what we already know.

It was also a relief of pressure , a frustrated explosion of annoyance.

My bad VP, apologies. I have seen a lot of people who actually think it's made on the day. You've always been a reasoned poster though hence why I didn't respond to you sarcasticly

Thanks Notcher, and for my part I value your opinions on here because you played the game at a much higher level than me, more recently and know the inner working of the club.

It's often difficult to get across jokes and sarcasm on the printed page unless you have a command of language, which, sadly, I don't have.

As I mentioned in another thread, Henry Winter believes that there are other PL clubs that will make a similar appointment.

I must admit to enjoying the back pages it's getting though. I hope the Premier league are squirming.
Not a chance. They don't give a shiny shite.

Anyway, how could clattenberg be at the city ground and on gladiators at the same time. Something seems fishy to me.

Also I heard Steven Reid got sent off for saying to tierney that giant was looking for him!
I watched the 5th episode of the series last night, and it was mint (most have been so far to be fair)

Had a nice little energetic Irish redhead kicking arse in it, and she was a joy to watch, great name too...

I pray Clattenberg is bias AF against any scouse contenders which participate from here on :ROFLMAO:

I wonder whether Clattenberg in this position is the club starting to put the pieces in place for a potential challenge through solicitors etc.

It's got the start one day, has to. Refs are potentially costing multi-millionaires millions (in probably very biased eyes), and we know that isn't allowed to happen. Did someone raise a situation where it happened in Belgium?

Had we been negatively impacted by a subjective decision from Tierney, looking at a legal reponse would be laughable, but as Henry Winter pointed out this morning, as Tierney conciously ignored a basic, inflexible rule, or worse, was seemingly unaware of it, then it's possibly a different matter, although I hope we don't feel the need to go down that route.

I hope so too, though it's crossed my mind that Clattenburg might end up/have joined as an expert witness.

I dont understand the fuss over this at all

If the club believe it gives the any sort of help appointing an ex ref then whats the problem? its on the club to decide if its justified or not.

Most clubs that get unfairly punished will follow suit anytime soon. Fine margins. They have created a scenario which begs to be scrutinised.....So its being scrutinised.

Bed made, lay in the f***er! Hopefully enough clubs pressure them to stop allowing whats happening.

Well done Forest!

It worked well yesterday, in that they sent out Clattenburg to berate the ref while Nuno kept his mouth shut. If Nuno said what he was thinking it would have lead to a fine/touchline ban. Didn't need to.

I think this has a lot to do with it.

Nuno will always be asked in post match interviews and has a lot to lose by giving his opinion about on-the-field officiating. Clattenburg, however, can provide an ‘unbiased’ explanation based upon the official facts, rules and laws of the game without any reflection on the club.

He can also provide us with support and guidance in respect to what referees deem as ‘acceptable’ and ‘professional’ fouling / behaviour etc etc.

So in effect, this appointment means we can get someone to slag the ref off on our behalf? The hidden voice of Nuno without risk of Nuno getting charged.

It's all a smokescreen.
The only sensible thing to do would be to get rid of Var.
If anything else worked that badly it would be binned.
If we are expecting ex referees to say or do anything against the premier league paymasters we are living in cloud cuckoo land

I think it's started to become clearer what the intention of this appointment is all about. It's primarily to shine a spotlight on referees and VARs performance with us through the media. We're already seeing Clattenburg on radio and TV sports shows after yesterday.

Normally the issues would be glossed over or completely missed but because he's a figurehead of sorts in his own right he can command so additional media time and there's an intrigue. It also allows him to speak more freely and with authority than Nuno would without getting into trouble.

I also think there's something else going on behind the scenes with it although I'm not too sure what yet.

Think Clattenburg had Howard Webb sat with him on Wednesday - assume that was part of the bridge building remit.

Its a pushback, and one I agree with personally. Many clubs follow suit until these ridiculous decisions that 6 people get wrong is improved

Its Forest saying YOU will be judged as well, YOUR incompetance WILL be highlighted.

Im all for it.

That went through the Belgian Court system.

Yeah the fact this has actually had some media focus for once is probably the point
