Brentford vs Arsenal
Liverpool vs Leeds
Liverpool vs Norwich
Wolves vs Everton
Brighton vs Man City
Hull vs Leicester (Champions)

Just going back 6 years there for opening games. But yeah completely random...
One of the top 6 sides play a side that's come up - wow, what are the chances of that in a 20 team league!

Percy just now:

Forest are ramping up their pre-season preparations and will fly out to Spain in early July, where they are due to face Championship club Coventry City in a friendly.

Cooper and his squad will also play Hertha Berlin and Union Berlin in pre-season matches next month

That's rubbish, was hoping for a last minute away tour to see us preseason. Don't think il be making the trip to Spain to watch us Vs Coventry.

As ever, I’m hoping for an away tie against crack German outfit, VfB Stuttgart.

Are we playing the Berlins in Berlin, or are they both coming here?

Be a nice weekend away if the former!

Hertha said their game against us (if confirmed) would be in England on 19th or 20th July as part of their training camp at St Georges Park.

If the report about a game against Union is correct (not convinced), then the only remaining free dates on their schedule are training camp games in Austria on 15th/16th July or a friendly in Berlin on 23rd July.

From Tails' Athletic article this morning:

"Forest will install brand new LED floodlights, they must increase the size of their dugouts, the press box will be expanded with the addition of 60 new seats and more than five miles of new cable has been installed around the perimeter of the pitch, to help with whole new levels of broadcast demands.

The scale of the work is such that there will be no pre-season games played at the City Ground — Meadow Lane is expected to host at least one Forest friendly game and the visit of West Ham on Saturday, August 13 is set to be the next time Steve Cooper’s side will play at home."

I've seen Valencia play at the CG twice before Ash. They battered us here in our very first foray into Europe in the old Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (later the UEFA Cup). We then invited them to play us here for our Centenary game in 1965.
We also played Valencia in the Super Cup in 1980,Otis-winning 2-1 at the City Ground and losing 1-0
away(thereby losing on the away goals rule).

Yes, of course mate.
The early-60s tie still sticks in my mind because Valencia had a Brazilian no.9 called Waldo who ran our defence ragged, banging-in a hat-trick in the process.

Some good games - do we think Union Berlin match was planned in advance of Awoniyi signing or came up at a point during talks?

Also I may have missed it, do we know when players return? Is it next Monday?

Could well be part of the deal, especially considering we're heading over the Berlin for it.

I thought it was today they were back tbh, a lot of Prem sides seem to be back today. They're going to Alicante for a training camp on 3rd July so assume they'll be in for tests etc. before that.

Ah makes sense, including the international guys? Or are they joining a few days later do we think

Given that it was a buyout clause, you wouldn’t think we’d need to add things into the deal. Maybe it gave us some payment schedule flexibility

I assumed Hertha was at St Georges when Burton was mentioned.

Would imagine there'd be another game around July 30th?

That’s annoying the Hertha game I get back from holiday the Thursday. Cheeky one to Berlin? I’ve got my team looking into it, announcement imminent.
