But maybe he'd have got a second yellow if he'd not injured himself then too, which strictly speaking should have meant Tottenham went to 10 men instead of bringing on Nayim of course. I think that was how it happened wasn't it - a yellow for the Parker challenge and nothing for the Charles one?

No. The Parker challenge went unpunished but he received a yellow card for the Charles one. The injury wasn't apparent straight away. He got up and tried to walk it off and didn't go off injured until after Pearce had scored the free-kick.

So Watson, it has nothing to do with Forest and whether they were cheated by Milford's decision. He wishes he wasn't there because it went badly for him.

I feel like the first foul is the one that should've been penalised more harshly then in that case. A yellow, even now, for the second, might seem 'ok'. Only Milford knows whether he'd have sent him off for it (with or without the first foul in mind - in theory it shouldn't be unless two bad fouls is considered consistent fouling I suppose, once he decided not to book him for the Parker one) if Gazza hadn't been lying injured at the time.

Forest didn't really recapture the semi-final form (although we did get to play vs 10 men in that one) or the form from the Chelsea/Norwich games though. It was probably just an ok performance but it's true that with Nayim on for Gascoigne we should still have been in a better position than at kick-off, and neither Parker or Charles were actually injured after they'd recovered from the challenges.

Still scored one of my favourite ever goals against the jocks at Euro 96.

Remember when you were proud of the England team?

Was really good.

GK: Shilts
CB: Tony Adams
CB: Terry Butcher
CB: Des Walker
LWB: John Barnes
RWB: Gary Neville
CM: Paul Gascoigne
CM: Bryan Robson
AM: Ali Bernarbia
CF: Alan Shearer
CF: Gary Lineker

Not bad at all. After hearing Pearce's comments on Bernarbia, the man has just elevated to legend status for me.

Pearce describes that he was on 99 career goals at Man City and Bernarbia had been reading in the paper that Pearce needed 1 more goal to reach 100 career goals. So Bernarbia said 'Stu, you need one more goal to reach 100? No problem, I will get get you that goal'. So as the game was going on, Bernarbia dribbled into the penalty area and flicked the ball up at the defender's hand, ran over to the penalty spot with the ball, waved Pearce over and said 'Stu, there you go. I told you'. Pearce missed the penalty but still, the sentiment was there.

Another story he told was when Pearce moved into the coaching team at City, and Keegan and himself were discussing Bernarbia towards the end of the following season. Bernarbia was slowing down a bit and his legs were going. Pearce and Keegan were both debating what to do with him as he was a decent guy and had a year left on his contract. So at the end of one particular game where he had a stinker, Keegan, Pearce and the rest of the coaching staff were sat around a table and Bernarbia walked in and shook everyone's hand one by one and declared 'Goodbye everyone. That's me done. I'm finished'. Then he proceeded to rip up his contract and laid it on the table.

What a man. To recognise he was only going to be a passenger and having the decency not to take any wages from the club.
Are YOU seriously telling US what a legend Pearce is?

Couldn't make it up!

I was talking about Benarbia.

However, more to the point, I would like to be made aware of when you will be dropping your bitter little agenda against me? Although you've informed me it would be very simple to source many posts where I have written 'PEARCE OUT', you have failed to deliver even one. I've shown you posts where I said I was very torn and looking for a solution (bringing back SO'D to help Pearce, for example). So the bottom line is, until you're able to deliver on your promises, please, please, please.....stop embarrassing yourself.

Thank you.

I don't think I read Super Coops's post close enough! If he wasn't lying on the floor then Milford's decision wouldn't be influenced by that consideration of course. Anyway, yeah I remember the challenges and in summary for me the Parker one was the worst and most dangerous (to the Forest player at least) even if the Charles one had the added factor of being near the edge of the box and being the second dodgy challenge. As has been said Forest actually got a result with the free-kick being given anyway on that occasion of course.

I think the game was shown on ESPN Classic before that channel was taken off air, and I did think again especially towards the end and in extra time that Forest weren't playing great and certainly not compared to the form shown in the weeks before.

Can't be Arsenal to read the thread but what comes around goes around you dirty Geordie twat. It's all very well feeling sorry for someone when they are in their hour of need but both garza and more so the ref deserve all they get.. And the f***ing cheating cock in the uefa cup semi..

Whether you love or hate him, Gazzas an ex England legend, with an iconic status, and plenty of fan admiration despite having achieved nothing since he retired from playing.

Only a matter of time until he's managing us.

Not that we can be accused of living in the past, we'll just have a thread about losing the 1991 FA Cup final on the main Forest forum.
Thank the Lord we managed to beat Derby in 1898. I still think the second goal was offside.

For me the best goal I have ever seen. I know it's not the most technically brilliant but quite an unusual goal & brilliantly taken, and a great time & place to do it,
