I would refer to my earlier posts, I could see Mangala slotting effortlessly into the Forest Midfield.
Athleticism, composure on the ball, creativity, he has all the technical tools and is a superb athlete too.
VfB have often played a variant of 3-4-3, with Magala as one of the two centrally playing Midfielders but with license to get forward (he does like a late run into the box, too).

Statistically looks quite similar to O'Brien (bit of a ball carrying terrier type but with limited goal threat) so I wonder if he was/is the alternative to him.

If we could get Garner, Winks and one of Mangala and O'Brien for the same I'd much prefer that (sorry Vranckx, nothing personal).
I'm just not convinced about spending on holding players when we haven't got any central midfield playmakers or attacking midfielders, or supporting forwards, or backup/possibly 1st choice option strikers in yet but surely need to and we already spent quite a bit so I'm not sure how much is left.

Wouldn't mind that either hah. Not too picky. Reason I like the Vranckx link is
a) we can see by Onana for Lille how much these young Belgians can gain value (Vranckx was higher rated by their youth set up, was transferred for more money last summer than Onana in the same window and is a year younger)
b) I don't know if you follow Henshaw Analysis on Twitter? But he showed Vranckx stats and his pressure rate was incredible and think that could throw a lot of prem midfield out of kilter

This is the sort of player we should be going after. The Bundesliga will be packed full of Premier League quality without the pompous delusional value that seems to come when buying from another Premier League team.
I guess it's like shopping in Lidl. Hope this isn't BUPA.
