Cooper wanted Wood. He needs to find a way to get a tune out of him
No he doesn't. Our recruitment setup let us down by sanctioning the move, and EM has changed it. you don't cut your nose off to spite your face by trying to force a square peg into a round hole, and now we've a new recruitment team in place who deserve a chance to land a good striker.

I don't get why Cooper wanted Wood so much? 4m loan fee and 15m to sign perm is ridiculous on a 1 year deal. I'd have rather signed Keinan Davies
The squad needed more strikers and he was the best the club could find.

You're presenting it as if better players were available but cooper individually forced through the Wood transfer.

This was what incensed me, even more than the debacle of a performance that preceded the players leaving the pitch. It was appalling, seeing some of our team laughing and palling it up with the scouse opposition after that display.
I didnt notice that - who was laughing with the opposition after the match? I cant say I'm massively surprised though

I didn't say anything of the sort

Are we relegated yet? Seems like it from these comments. When will learn writing players off? Many of us did that a few weeks into Taiwo's first season with us so just maybe we should give Chris Wood a little bit more time. He has scored viral goals for us and when we get the system right he will again.
This was clearly a very bad day at the office but Forest have generally shown a marked improvement this season in results and performances so let's stop the wrist slashing and keep the faith.

Could only catch the first hour of this one. Was probably the most disappointing performance I've seen since back in the prem - from reading through the thread it sounds like it didn't get much better(?).

I'd say it got very slightly better after we went behind, when the players really had no excuse at all to keep going backwards. But only very slightly.

Hmm, don't think so. Look at McNeil wandering past CHO into the area. CHO just points at him, assuming the magic marking fairies will pick up McNeil. Good finish from a good player sure, but if we don't bother tracking back into our area then eventually we're going to concede when the ball drops to their unmarked guy.
I wouldn't disagree with that at all. My comment was more a riposte to those on here and perhaps more elsewhere that the goalkeeper should have saved it.

It got worse.

I'd like to go back in time and stay at home instead of venturing to the City Ground yesterday evening. One of the most awful displays I've seen in 40 years of watching Forest.

This might be a little bit of an exaggeration perhaps.

I’m not even bothered about the result on Wednesday I just want to see us try and play football, if we stand off and aimlessly hoof the ball forward I think I’ll have an early night.
If Wood starts that exactly what we’ll be doing. Playing to his strengths…pace…power and hold-up play 😂

In game management is a worry, i was happy enough with the line up but when we played so poorly, and Wood is kept on for the full 90 minutes you have to wonder what’s going on.

Same with Dominguez and Aina being left on the bench all game, 2 of our better performers recently. Big week ahead praying for a win from somewhere

The only player that is being written off (me included) is Wood. Just look at his age, record and general play. Just how crap would we have to be to get a tune out of him?

Vlachodimos hasn’t come for crosses, which is suicidal against teams that pump the ball into the box. A downgrade from Henderson / Navas.

The others?

Aurier - hasn’t been great all season.
Toffolo - has done well, but he shouldn’t be our first choice LB. A downgrade from Lodi.
Boly - got injured.
Murillo - class.
Mangala - consistent.
Yates - first start, should have played instead of Sangare.
Sangare - sick.
MGW - not a winger. Could do with a rest.
Elanga - a good signing, but no Johnson.

I think your typo with Wood summed it up. Viral goals. Happens once in a blue moon, knocks you for six, takes ages to recover.

not yet,but if Everton have their points reduced to say 6 and burnley go on a run we are fooked, I have no confidence in this team atm We lack a right back,2 wing backs and a centre forward whose young and quick.

Sorry, camera panned by quickly at the time and I was still livid at the game, so had to go back and look just now. It was Origi, having a jolly old catch up with, I believe, Doucoure.

I said one of the most awful, not the most awful. That'll be the game that got Calderdud sacked.
Wouldn't even register in the top ten for me, nor would that one be a Calderwoods worst, think that one would be the 1-0 loss away at Donny the season prior where we played a 6-4-0 formation, had about 10% possession all game, zero shots on target and lost to, at that time, end our chances of automatic promotion. That away end was proper toxic after the final whistle.

Our momentum & intent improved when we went behind, okay Everton dropped to hang on, but the latter part of the game was how I expected us to start it.

That first half performance was up there with the worst Ive seen. Struggled with the basics and way inferior to a fellow relegation struggler in terms of execution.
