Looking at this a month ago, you'd definitely have thought we'd have been in with a good chance of 3 points.

But things went downhill so quickly it looks like most would be happy with a point now.

I still think we have a good chance of 3 points.

Or possibly 4 points if I'm going full Marinakis.

I find these kind of games, where a new manager comes in with a short amount of time to work with the players, really interesting...

The last time out was Cooper's taking over from Hughton, and while I forget exactly how long he had (think it would have been a similar amount of time as a Weds/Sat turnaround?) you could see the early shoots of recovery in that Millwall game.

You got the impression then that the players weren't at all disappointed with Hughton's dismissal, while there will be more of a mixed bag this time around. Hopefully some previous relationship's with Boly and to a lesser degree MGW will help.

Anyhow, I hope we can see a shift towards the type of play we can expect in the longer term - I expect similar commitment levels to the last couple of weeks but hopefully with some more intent to use the ball effectively in our play. Wishful thinking? Maybe, it's probably just as likely we see a nervy mistake laden shitshow, though the starting 11 will be an interesting signpost to where we are headed, as will the shift in approach to the new incumbent... where I would hope to see similar positive early signs as last time the merry-go-round was spun.

Hughton sacked on a Thursday.

We played Huddersfield on Saturday, ostensibly under the caretakership of Steven Reid.

Cooper announced Tuesday, prior to playing Mllwall on the Saturday.

The formation change at Huddersfield already appeared to have Cooper's fingerprints on it.

Ah, so cooper had a week to ten days with the players prior to that Millwall performance? Big ask tomorrow then.

Edit: completely forgot about the caretaker win by Reid.

Fun (ish) game; is it possible to name a starting XI entirely of players who played for wolves or speak Portuguese?

I'm assuming Oddy can speak Portuguese to some level after that amount of time there.

I'm going with my now standard shape for the last three or four games (albeit with some changes to players - I expect more surprises than this tbh)

Vlach

Boly Murrilo Niakhate

Williams Sangare Mangala Aina(?)

MGW
CHO Elanga

I don't really care who's behind that three, but I demand (yes demand!) to see it... and let's be honest it probably doesn't work as CHO likes to come deeper to work himself into the game, in which case shove him on the same row as MGW and let them weave behind my forward who is definitely more of a winger!

Managers eh, who'd do it?!

Time is right to give players left out by SC a go:
Hennessey
Worrall McKenna Omobamdiele
Arter Yates Santos Aguilera
Origi Wood Hudson-Odoi

That will surprise Bournemouth!

Aguilera flare received! I like that kid, though he was apparently a bit guff in the Doncaster match.

That team would have to run out to Strangers in the Night by Frank Sinatra?

You could throw Dominguez in for Gibbs White since Argentinian is close to Spanish which is close to Portuguese. Stick Nuno in goal and were at the races!

Argentinian *is* Spanish! And I think it's generally the reverse of that - Portuguese speakers can generally get by in Spanish but not the other way around.

(I was allowed ex-Wolves players, hence MGW!)
