I expect that Joe and Scarpa will view this as a potential clean-slate for them?
I think anyone who didn't start the last two games (plus Awoniyi) is probably looking at it as a positive opportunity.

Not sure they'll be back in serious contention though; Scarpa is geographically distant and Mendes will have shared his thoughts on him already, and Joe will deffo be behind Boly, Felipe and Murillo in Nuno's initial planning.

Let’s get behind the new manager and get a big 3 points Saturday
Na, f*** that. Of course I hope the team wins but supporting the new bloke when things have gone like this feels like i'd be supporting the decision and I don't. Of all the people to sack, Ross Wilson and Marinakis' doofus son should have been top of that list.

If this is ultimately the outcome we could have done a lot worse.

Let's not forget this guy took Wolves up in his first season then finished 7, 7, 13 before going to Spurs.

Most of us would be over the moon with the lowest of those this season, but he has a lot of work to do.

We know the squad has plenty of room where we need new players so it won't be his fault if we don't turn around a side which has 1 win in 13 and has Newcastle and Man Utd in the next 3.
Yea I personally think it's a good appointment based on what he did at wolves.

He's worked with Mendes as part of that too which is a big positive if it's true that Mendes is now so central to the club/EM's empire.

Got to support the team and want him to do well though

We were probably getting the bargain basement Mendes stuff with Montanier and when we did it again with the 3 Portuguese lads.

He has much better on his agency whom we wouldn't have got in the CH but now we are PL are without doubt a bigger draw for a player.

Let's be fair I'd rather have Cooper still but if that ship has sailed, which would be an understandable decision, this isn't too bad a choice.

I wonder if our brand new set piece coach is in for a very short career with us.
Sad to see Coops go, but completely behind the new coach whoever it is.

Plenty of pros can be argued with this appointment:
  • Good experience of managing in the premier league with a club of comparable size (likely reason for preference over Glasner)
  • Pretty good managerial record wherever he has been
  • Used to playing with a counterattacking style and being defensively tight, something which the current squad lends itself for
  • Can speak other languages
  • If the worst was to happen, has managed in the Championship and been very successful
  • Has worked with Mendes in the past with lot more success than Forest's previous venture so hopefully the hit rate will be better

Apologises if already mentioned but what formation/style did he run with at Wolves?
5 at the back (wing backs), low block.
