Either way this is going to be a tough gig to come into. Think there will be a lot of scepticism and anger at the decision, which will likely be incorrectly aimed at Nuno. He is starting on the back foot so an immediate impact is absolutely necessary

The social media reaction when he announces his first team could be...telling.

I will make this point & it'll probably be my last but let's not cut off our nose to spite our face. I am not talking about a managerial change I am talking about the reaction to it. I want the best for this club not individuals and I will back the new guy whoever it is to get the job done. Demanding toxicity is childish & it will serve nobody well apart from the teams around us.

If it is Nuno replacing Cooper, I think that's a good decision because he is a top manager for me & his style is suited to the personnel we have.
Having got used to SC leaving now-I think it’s important that we all get behind Nuno and the team from the start of his reign.
The supporters will still be here to pick up the pieces long after EM departs.

One cannot transform a team tactically in a couple of days folks. Not the way football, or the world, works. Bournemouth will be a free hit for him. After that, two tough games. Then he has three weeks to work with the squad and get things shaped in a manner he wishes. Patience is a virtue, and looking in the rear view mirror rarely reaps dividends. Let's see how the future presents itself.

I'd actually be surprised if Santo is in charge.
This feels like a Caretaker manager situation if any of Steve's team haven't followed him out the door.

I expect that Joe and Scarpa will view this as a potential clean-slate for them?

It should be. Everyone in the squad should get a clean slate, and those who seemingly downed tools for Cooper should be given the chance to prove their worth to the new man.

McKenna too?
Possibly, although I thought he'd rejected a contract offer anyway, making his situation a little different. My guess is that Scott is seen as someone who can command a fee next month, particularly if the link with Celtic has substance?

If this is ultimately the outcome we could have done a lot worse.

Let's not forget this guy took Wolves up in his first season then finished 7, 7, 13 before going to Spurs.

Most of us would be over the moon with the lowest of those this season, but he has a lot of work to do.

We know the squad has plenty of room where we need new players so it won't be his fault if we don't turn around a side which has 1 win in 13 and has Newcastle and Man Utd in the next 3.
