Crap. Looks like Queen of the South 1980-81.

Why the fuck did Wednesday change their badge? The old one was a million times better...
It’s ridiculous.

The current one is a actually the very old one but the 80s/90s/00s one is iconic. Second only to ours really in terms of being memorable. I understand why Juve changed theirs to a modern style but it’s too late as far as I’m concerned. Ours and the owls are of a time, and quite simply the best.

Didn't know Mercedes Benz owned a bank?!
They do indeed; the Mercedes-Benz Bank (also headquartered in Stuttgart) provides financing for the purchase of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and also deals with leases (so you pay the bank for your lease on a Merc, instead of a dealer).

The arrangement seems to work well, from what I’ve read, and is quite lucrative (For Mercedes, anyway!)

I would add of course, Daimler-Benz holds a minority stake in the VfB as well as being a sponsor, thanks to an investment of some €41m a few years ago.

Is it my imagination or are clubs moving away from gambling sponsors?
I think the Premier League is banning them starting 23/24 season - so clubs are not signing long term deals with them.

And I do feel like they are affected by fan reaction now, unless the money is much better clubs probably will pick an alternative.

Didn't realise there was official reaction kicking in. About time, too. The firms make obscene amounts of money and only take some slight remedial action when pushed very hard.

Yeah, if forest had a crypto sponsor I wouldn't buy the shirt and would compose a pretty stern email to the club. It's gambling mixed in with a massive fucking grift, without any form of regulation, and I'd feel dirty wearing a shirt advertising it.
Crypto is worse than gambling because it’s unregulated and most people don’t know what they are actually buying.

I’m the same as you, I won’t buy the shirt with a gambling or crypto sponsor.

One other VfB tidbit when orderlng the new Home short posted above; as per usual, there are options to get a players‘ name on the back, but this season, the club have added an extra selectable option in tribute to the Club Captain, Japanese international Wataru Endo, who scored the winning goal in the season‘s final match against 1. FC Köln, which kept Stuttgart in the Bundesliga: you can now select his number (3) and the name „Legendo“ (a tribute to a piece of viral graffiti some kids painted outside his house):
