Any Time Now

He didn't start against West Ham because Nuno didn't want to risk giving away free kicks given the JWP threatYates will be back, he does every time. Hope nobody is stupid enough to write him off as a prem player!

It was the correct call by Nuno to bench Yatesy against West Ham. He has to control his tendency to give away cheap free kicks.Steppin up to the plate this lad is.
Pity Yates didn't.
We have good options in that position nowIt was the correct call by Nuno to bench Yatesy against West Ham. He has to control his tendency to give away cheap free kicks.
Danillo and Dominguez had very good games on Saturday and if they continue at that standard Yatesy will have to up his all round game to get a start.
I think that the 'a' word should be on the swear filter listI have actually given Anderlecht the steam off my piss, given that some years ago, I took a massive, steaming, beer-induced slash up the side of the Constant van der Stock stadium whilst on a business trip to Brussels, considering it a „dirty protest“.
They won’t get anything else from me, mind you.
Good idea.I think that the 'a' word should be on the swear filter list

Doing it more regularly is the key here as you say! It’s still early days and hopefully he can now play like he did on Saturday for the rest of the season. I love his attitude though, he’s clearly a driven lad and a good character which always makes him more favourable.
If he does keep up the performance for the rest of the season the £17m starts to look a bit better value. He’d be a 22/23 year old with a proven half good season under his belt and no reason to think he’ll get worse, probably will steadily get better. With inflation and hopefully another season in the league the price tag becomes fine.
He was brilliant against Newcastle and Man Utd. It is just one of those traps we all fall in to. Players aren’t world beaters after a couple of games and they aren’t hopeless after a couple of bad ones or a bad run of results for the team.Don't think anyone's said Montiel is superb. Surplus to requirements imo.

Beat me to the punch. I'm not sure about Tavares either but sense Nuno likes him.May as well make use of him for rest of season but certainly wouldn't be extending it past then.
Next season should be Williams and Aina for the RB slot, and someone new and Toffolo for the left back slot. I remain unconvinced about Tavares so I hope we don't trigger the purchase option.
I think soI hope we extend Aina’s contract. Was it just a 1 year?
I think Aina is better on the right than on the left, so I'd take him and Williams at RB. I guess that leaves ?? and ?? at LB though, unless Tavares continues to improve.
I'll be surprised if Montiel wants to sign permanently if he's not a regular starter. As I said before I'd keep Montiel at the price his clause is, he can fight it out with Williams for the RB spot (Williams wins), we keep Aina for the left and bring in a quality LB for him to fight it out with. Good options in that lot.
He has been when fit though and may continue to be so. I just back Williams long term...I'll be surprised if Montiel wants to sign permanently if he's not a regular starter.
as a welshman ive watched his games from day one we have a real player thereSaid it before. There's a reason why he had international caps at the age of 19 and went through the youth system at a club like Liverpool.
I hope what people are seeing now puts the Spence v Williams debate to bed, because I think it's clear to see who has more focus and professionalism to improve and reach the top.
He's also the one player who gave Spence such a rough time in the Championship playing for Fulham. Forest made the correct decision on this one.

a djed spence who cant get a game even at reserve level nowadaysI must confess I though this lad was shit and would never make the grade in the Prem. I am glad I was wrong, he is by far our most improved player this season and looks like he is only going to get better.
If he keeps playing like he has recently I might even start to forget about Djed Spence
It certainly was said on here and other socials that we should sign him up after the back to back Newcastle and Man U performances.Don't think anyone's said Montiel is superb. Surplus to requirements imo.
Yep I agree. I also thought we got ripped off and he was rubbish - still think we paid too much but have been really impressed by him. Love the fact he runs and runs and does not give up, has a bit of skill. Only issue is his shooting is dreadful, about on par with Yates heading skill !I must confess I though this lad was shit and would never make the grade in the Prem.
