Still rather get Spence than Williams for 15m. If Spurs are dithering, stick an initial 13m offer to Middlesborough and see what they say.

Depends on what rumours you believe, but 'apparently' Spurs had agreed a fee with 'Boro at the back end of the season for that amount (hence why all the rumours were it was a done deal). After the playoffs, 'Boro backed out and wanted £20m for Spence and that is why Spurs have seemingly gone cold on the idea.

If that's true, 20m unlikely to happen so Middlesborough will have to back down sooner rather than later as they would need money to fund their own promotion campaign.

I mean Mbabu for 10 or Williams for 15, give me the latter all day.

Mbabu looks solid defensively and he is admittedly rapid, but pretty shocking on the ball. Ball pinballs off him more than not when I’ve watched Wolfsburg in the Champs. By the looks of it, he’s now their back up aswell

Mbabu always looked like a centre-half playing out of position in the little I saw of him at RB for Newcastle. Admittedly that was a few years ago, bjt he didn’t look a natural footballer.

I think we should get both Williams and Spence if we can. If we cant get Spence fair enough just our full backs in our side are single handedly our most important position in our team.

I'm surprised so many people saying they'd rather Williams. We saw Spence first hand all season be one of the best RB's we've had in decades (imo the best I remember in 20+ years) but people would rather someone who they haven't seen in our system, with our players around him, who I'm assuming you have watched much less often

Not saying it's wrong obviously, I'm just surprised there's so many people who'd rather take a chance on Williams fitting into our team than a guy we know will.

That said obviously I'd rather have Trent Alexander-Arnold over Spence so if people genuinely think Williams is that much better than fair enough. I don't know too much about him as when I've watched games he's played in I've not really been looking out for him lol

Probably would cost too much but Neco is more than comfortable at LB and plays there for Wales. These 2 on either side could be bloody fantastic.
Maybe so, but I'd much prefer we sign an actual LWB to play there rather than spend £15-20m on RWB and stick him there. We'd be far better balanced with a left footer on the left.

I have a sneaky feeling he’s being signed to play on the left should all our plans fall into place, with the added bonus that if somebody becomes available late in the window, we are flexible enough to buy either a left or right wingback.

Didnt Neco Williams play LWB for Fulham last season? However I agree if its 2 RWB it makes no sense.
Played there for Wales, but usually plays RWB for Fulham I believe.

I don't think we should sign Williams to play LWB based on him playing the odd game there for Wales once in a blue moon.

I doubt we'll sign both Spence and Williams anyway. It'll be one or the other, or (more likely IMO) neither.

Me too. Although I'm never wholly convinced we know anything.

I think I'm getting accustomed to Premier league transfer life, along with the sheer volume of linked players with Williams this morning I've read simultaneously that we have had a bid accepted, rejected out of hand and also negotiated to £20m

20M for someone who’s played about 30 senior games.

It’s f***ing pathetic how the ‘top 6’ can rip the lesser teams off, meanwhile the smaller teams sell cheaply to the bigger teams.

Liverpool signed that lad from Aberdeen for what 5/6m, he will probably never play and in 2 years be sold for 30M to Crystal Palace.

I agree. I think the £11m + £4m add ons we have supposedly bid is quite a fair offer really. I don't think we should go much higher than that. £20m is insane and if that is what they are looking for then we should move on to another target.
