didn't say it was easy but if a player is worth that much time and you have the money why dick about
I think EGO is a big part of the negotiation.
The Wolve's owner has stated "it's £30m".
EM says it isn't.
There is now a battle of egos, and given the stakes, neither is wanting to blink first.
Stupid really.

Just a timely reminder that a club may well promise you the world but it doesn't always pan out.

Interesting that he's been used out of position pre season too - he's very flexible in terms of where he can play, but the player will want the best possible chance to show what he can do, which I'd argue is in his preferred position.

Given the recent noises, I think it's very much on.
but surely...

Forest are promising the world?

Jesse Lingard will play in MGW preferred position?

Until MGW Tweets the words "I've shit myself after 6 pints of Rattler", I'm not believing anything I read.
With a name like Morgan Gibbs-White, he is probably more partial to a sweet sherry.

He always reminds me of Kid Creole for some silly reason.
I see him with a large pina-colada in a half-shll coconut, with a veritable basket of fruit on a swizzle stick, topped with one of those bamboo and paper little umbrellas... maybe even a sparkel flaring away.

Good point, but think MGW has played more games as a straight CM, as opposed to the attacking one.

In our system I think he plays deeper - whether that's what he wants/thinks he's best at remains to be seen...

Surely we cant up it any further. If they've turned down a 3rd bid then surely they mean it when they say he's not for sale.

Or is it bakery time?

Yeah I wouldn't go any higher than that, lad has never done anything in the Prem and while I think he'll probably be a 50/60m player one day it's a big risk.

Maybe a restructure of that deal with £28-£30m up front but I don't think we should add any more money on.

35m? This is getting too much Shirley.

He's got 1 goal for Wolves in the championship and Premier league put together from 66 matches for Wolves.

0 in 20 championship matches.
1 in 44 premier league.

Need to stop getting carried away with one player. Plenty more fish in the sea.

If he plays any part for them tomorrow, its safe to say the deal isn't close. There no way either club would risk it if the negotiations are close.

If he does play and is crap we could rename him Morgan Gibbs-Shite in an attempt to reduce the asking price.

He does have 44 appearances for Wolves while they've been in the PL, in fairness. 1 PL goal.

Last season at Sheffield United was his only stellar season so far, mind you. 11 goals in 35.

£35m is insane money, for that. I hope a restructure of the bonuses gets it done and we don't offer more.

Profit is the reward for taking risk.
You want minimal risk, you get minimal profit.
Make an riskier investment... the returns get higher (and the level of certainty diminishes).
I would suggest we are playing for very high stakes, and we are almost bound to take bigger risks.
