I'm genuinely shocked to be honest as I felt like we were looking elsewhere but I'm all for it. MGW was fantastic against us in the Playoff Semi-Final and obviously Wolves value him highly.

He's every bit as good as Brennan, in a different role.

I can't find anything where she said that?

Percy was the one that said it was done
I’m fairness they weren’t wrong with the info. He was nailed on and everything agreed he just pulled out when they asked for money to complete. Not sure in those circumstances you can say anyone had duff info

The tone from the Wolves end seems to be that they have not accepted a bid but they expect us to meet the demands of Wolves very soon.

Will be interesting to see whether he is involved tomorrow, although I don't think they have much choise to include him - they have such a thin squad. So maybe not that interesting. Just got to hope he doesn't do well as if he does well it will add a few million on the demands.

I'm still thinking he's staying at Wolves, at least until closer to the end of the window. I doubt any deal will be done soon, they'll at least want to see if other clubs jump back in to create a bidding war before agreeing any deal with us.

I think the price they want only leaves us. I think we know we are overpaying but we are okay with that because we want him more than any other team despite interest & others won't stretch to the demands IMO.

I think this is the end of the "bidding war" at the current price. You are right the biggest threat is he just stays at Wolves.

The whole saga reminds me of Brentford chasing Brennan in January. They met our asking price in the end but we decided to not sell. Gonna be an interesting few days now. I think it could still drag on because Wolves will want to bring in players before they sell surely.

I think that I'm absolutely reading between the lines with my own bias towards me wanting him to sign but......the only denial we've had from the Wolves local media has been consistently "Wolves expect him to start the season with them" so if he plays some part this weekend and then leaves they will technically be correct! Their commentary does seem to have moved from "Never gonna happen" to "Not been sold yet" as well.

I think the bidding war has ended. Everton and Palace were both interested but seem to have decided its too much. Only leaves us willing to pay it I think.

It's still only early August. It may be that we end up the highest bidders, but there is plenty of time for others to jump in. Wouldn't be surprised to see Everton come back in for him now they've discovered that FFP in the Premier League means nothing. A bad start could also push other clubs into changing their transfer plans too.

I just don't see any deal happening until closer to the end of the window, if there is a deal to be had at all.

The flip side of that is that he wants to come to us and if we meet Wolves' valuation they won't want to risk the sale by the risk of an injury.

Alternatively he starts the season well and his value skyrockets.

Unless MGW forces the issue by handing in a transfer request, they'll take their time or decide to keep him.

I suppose that's the 30 million pound question. Not sure I can see him handing in a request - money and bridges burned and all that.

I do think he wants to be with us, and with a club where he can be loved, as he experienced last season at Shef U - the conspiracy theorist in me wonders about the timing of Henderson's recent United blast; relates nicely to the MGW situation.

There won’t be a bidding war. All interested parties have shown their hands and the only way he goes elsewhere is if a big fish comes in for him at the last minute and pays a bit more.

A month is a long time in the transfer window. As quickly as clubs dropped out of the running, others can jump back in. A good start for MGW in the Premier League will almost certainly attract new interest.

Just a timely reminder that a club may well promise you the world but it doesn't always pan out.

Interesting that he's been used out of position pre season too - he's very flexible in terms of where he can play, but the player will want the best possible chance to show what he can do, which I'd argue is in his preferred position.

Given the recent noises, I think it's very much on.
