MISSING: Matty Fryatt

Well I suppose it's all relative isn't it. Compared to me he's not shit, compared to every other player on the pitch recently he has been shit, compared to other people in this league on his wages he's not shit he's absolutely disbolical..

He was last year, he was on 8k but if he played x amount of games, he'd get a second year at 30 grand. Whoever did that deal must of been drinking from the Trent.

Is this actually true? Or is it one of those rumours people have latched on to and decided has to be legit?

No, although tails did repeat it several times so it got a lot of traction.

It is true he did get a pay rise, triggered by reaching a certain amount of games but a) he took a pay cut to join us for his first year, to prove himself and b) it's Euro's, not £'s, so he's on actually closer to £23k than £30k

Ah I thought it had to be being overstated. 23K is still a lot, but I'd imagine a few of the players were not far off that that with the way we've been chucking money around in recent years

Leaving the player aside and leaving the figures aside, for what is one of the most criticised contracts at this club, by the fans, I actually wish we'd do more deals like that.

"We don't know much about you so we'll take you on at X% below your normal wage and if you prove yourself next year you can have your full wage plus the X% you lost this year"

Imagine how much we'd have saved with the likes of Abdoun if we'd structured his deal that way, because he'd have never triggered the pay rise.

The trick we missed with Tesche was not selling him to Birmingham last summer. If we'd done that we might have turned a slight profit on him, as it is we probably paid him a little to much this year and he's likely to leave this summer for free (depending on the new manager), making his time here a loss.

Birmingham could not afford his wages. Otherwise they would probably have bought him.

I bet he'd have taken a pay cut and a deal could have been pushed through if we'd put on the right pressures at this end.

If a player wants to leave a club he can always engineer a move, likewise if a club wants a player to leave they can usually do the same.

If we'd wanted to sell a quiet word about not being in any plans for this season, and talk of games as a reserve right back for the U21's I'm sure would have helped change his mind.

Still hoping he has an injury-free future at the CG. A clever player with the type of movement and guile we've missed.

Me to, its players like him and having to pay his wages and find and finance a replacement which is one of the reasons we got dicked by FFP.

Good player but Id feel guilty taking a wage with that output.

yeah , Reidy, Wilson, Fox, Fryatt,Hobbs all must have cost us a small fortune over the past few years, Need to work on Fox,Fryatt and Hobbs to get them off the wage bill.

Hull fans are unanimous "We'd have happily kept him on if he were fit enough to make it worthwhile, but he isn't."

You may find that Football clubs insure against long term injuries.

We wouldn't have been updated on Andy Reid if he wasn't coaching at the end of the season either.

Not being funny but is the manager blameless for the stupid contracts being given out? Pearce tenure saw substantial contracts to Mancienne, Tesche, Fryatt and then has audacity saying the club isn’t well run. Pearce period in charge directly impacted on FFP because of the stupid contracts being offered. I am sure he will blame the club but as a manager they should equally consider the clubs financial situation before requesting players
