MISSING: Matty Fryatt

What is his 'issue'?

Anyway, if he reports for pre-season training that's going to be another injury, so he won't make the season proper.

Fryatt was a massive risk he's been injured on and off forever. Tesche was just shit but apart from that Pearce's signings were OK. However how we ever thought the club would be moving forward paying anyone £20g a week especially if the were injury prone or a nothing midfielder beggars belief.. Need to shift about 6000 season tickets to pay for those two, it just doesn't stack up.
Tesche isn't and never has been shit. What a ridiculous statement

I thought the same when I read it but didn't want to argue. He's a German DM, he does what German DMs do. Get ball back, pass ball 10 yards that's it. It ain't his fault hes had two DMs either side of him getting in the way.

We should bin him and bring back Greening.

I still kinda feel sorry for the bloke, because if he'd played this year, he'd have hit double digits.

It's all about mid-table...
Tesche isn't shit, he'd have a role to play in an attacking team (definitely not us) but I've seen alot better in this league for what he does.

It's is wages that gets peoples backs up, he should be on a third of that salary at best.

Central midfield should be the heartbeat of your team. Tesche doesnt impose himself or influence games, he drags the pace out of it & he's weak in the tackle.

32 starts 7 wins! That aint the whole story, but he's been given ample opportunity to prove he's neither good enough or worth the outlay.

First out the door after the broken biscuits for me.

i would say reduced salary, whats the point of paying 1 to 2 million for another squad player when we have one? just seems a waste, birmingham wanted him and did well when loaned out, maybe how we use him needs to be looked at.

Remember that summer, when we had Dex already and Tyler about to start making appearances, then Pearce brought in a proven forward in Fryatt, probably the best lower-league striker in the country in Assombalonga and a very promising goal-glut Dutch lad to fill out the forward ranks, along with a nippy winger from Wednesday and scourge of our left-backs Chris Burke, so that we'd have some competition for Reid and Patterson, with OPsborne and that to come in as cover?

You couldn't fault it, could you? You'd look at Fryatt and think "even if he doesn't play half the games, we've got plenty of options and he's going to be very good to have in the 50% he does manage".

Despite the road to hell being paved with good intentions, despite the managerial houpla and the tumbleweed boardroom, despite the embargo, you'd still expect us to get by alright with what we had at that point.

Strip away the preventable or self-inflicted calamities and we've still got the shittest luck I've ever seen. We are the club that tried to shoot itself in the head, missed, fell over and broke its spine.

well said but i think this sums it up better

I've been trying to think what it is that frustrates me so much about Tesche and that's it, he does drag the pace out of the game.

Not sure if it's the way we set up or the fact we are poor up front but he seems to be one of our most ineffective players.

It is hugely frustrating.

Urgency doesn't have to be acting like a headless chicken but if your midfielders are lacking urgency it sets a negative tone if you want to play good football and that is what we all want to see. Add to it his passing isn't accurate for a static player either. So what's he really offering ?

On the ball and off the ball he is everything we don't need here to try and take us to that next level.

Birmingham didn't play him as a centre mid, three miles behind the striker. They got much more out of him.

Watching Tesche and Vaughan it's like chalk and cheese.

Whereas Vaughan hassles and looks to press forward, Tesche is just too slow and plodding. I know he's more of a defensive midfielder but he has that annoying habit that the England midfield did circa 2004-2006 where they'd get the ball, stop dead and look up to see where to pass to, bringing the opposition on to them whereupon they win back possession.

I wouldn't say he's shit but I don't think he suits the type of players around him, which is probably why he isn't favoured.

Achilles tendon injury. Can be a career finishing injury.

Our postman suffered a chronic Achilles tendon injury that resulted in the tendon contracting to such an extent he could only walk on tip-toe.
He had several operations, a lot of physio and was off work for nigh on 12-months.
I admired Fryatt when he was at Leicester, and also at Hull - and he nearly always scored against us.
He wasn't injured when we signed him.
Hindsight does give everyone 20-20 vision.
I just feel for the chap, and wish him well for an eventual recovery and return to the team.

We are getting much more out of Lansbury now that the summer transfer window is about to open. He played in this position for most of Pearce's reign and was the usual erratic player we've come to know.

I genuinely hope this is the summer we get rid. Could still get £4/£5m for him. Would be useful to have that cash.

Lansbury looks a better player now, primarily because he's the focal point in the area of the pitch he wants to play.

Under Pearce, the toys were thrown when Antonio was the focus & the ball started going long. Its why Lansbury is such a divisive player, he's got real quality only when conditions suit.

Debateable whether we want such a precious player around the place, I couldnt care as long as we have someone with genuine ability ain that area who can create for our strikers. Its what we,ve lacked all season.

Yes we can use it to improve the team like we did when we got rid of Antonio because of how one dimensional we were.
Oh wait.

He was last year, he was on 8k but if he played x amount of games, he'd get a second year at 30 grand. Whoever did that deal must of been drinking from the Trent.

If all that was needed was a small prick , Why on earth has it taken a f***ing year ?

I thought we'd sacked the small prick after his second disastrous spell as Manager?
