I agree, but I think we need someone like Vranckx or Albildgaard to compete with Yates. Personally think Vranckx would be the more rounded of the two.

Vranckx to compete with Yates. Mangala to compete with O'Brien. Cornet to cover LWB until Richards returns and to compete with Lingard offensively at the same time.

I thought he was an out and out left winger so would have limited use for us, but it seems as well as his undeniable skill and goalscoring ability he played almost the whole of the 20/21 season as a left back for Lyon. He can also play Centre Forward, Right Wing and Right Midfielder. What an asset he would be to the squad.

You ought to be fussed about who ends up in CM-if we get consistently dominated there it won’t matter what frills we have further forward.
And on Cornet-I very much doubt he’s being looked at as a wing back, otherwise why bother with Toffolo?. I think he’s a potential forward player particularly if we play 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 which I think is quite likely at times…

He’ll most definitely be being considered as a forward player, just with the added bonus that he can fill in if needs be in a more defensive role on the left

We will know when we are out of control when this becomes true. When we stop worrying about value.
If you take your line we will be flushing an extra 10-15M down the drain in windows like this and that’s the equivalent of the running cost of the whole club and academy x2. In amongst all that how many serious targets have we missed out on as a result of being sensible?

But if you quibble over a million or two and lose out on a player it could potentially cost you £100m if you get relegated. I agree we shouldn't be frittering away money for the sake of it but if we're too careful it could mean we lose out.

Anyway since that post we've proven we're clearly OK with putting cash on the table if the circumstances are OK.
