Matchday 5: Fulham Fan Comments

"Forest will be counting their lucky stars."

That's two of them. Count them. They weren't lucky either. Earned. Just like our 2-1 away yesterday.

A fair amount of the usual idiots but I think the intelligent majority agreed we deserved it.

I was awake all night counting those lucky stars.

They don't know about those "Lucky Pumpkins" ;)

"If Forest want to play anti football aided by a terrible ref they can stick t"he points where the sun doesn´t shine. Would any of us want us to employ the same tactics? Not me for one minute."

Give us £120 million to spend on players and maybe we won't either.

Nil perspective from a typical London twat.

Less of the racism!

No mention of Arters clear red card missed? Thats odd but then again apparently the ref was on our team so why would they mention it.

Good point. He was lucky to stay on the pitch.

They played neat football but they had three shots on goal.

One which took a massive deflection which Samba reacted well to, another header from a distance which was a comfortable enough save and then the goal which was barely even a half chance but a nice finish.

Meanwhile Grabban's two goals were both clear cut chances and Semedo was through one on one for a massive chance in the second half too.

Forest had the better chances and deserved the win even if the performance, especially in the second half, was more defensively resolute than attacking prowess.

“I attended both the millwall and notts forest game I have a season ticket in p3, during both games home supporters were subjected to abuse from away fans and guess what the stewards did nothing they were more concerned with telling OUR supporters to sit down.
Why don't fulham put a barrier like they have done to separate the building work from us I witnessed young children being sworn at and again and stewards could not give a tipping cuss”

Maybe he should have moaned after Millwall but guess they won then so the grapes weren’t as sour.

Oh no people said naughty words at a football game, how can they sleep at night.

You can tell the actual football fans in their ranks, who realise what away performances are about, from the FIFA playing Instagram generation spoilt brats who feel entitled to win every game because they had more possession and blame the ref for everything.

If I were in their shoes, I’d be concerned at how little they created, how poor Knockaert and Cavaleiro were, disappointed in the error for the second, but grudgingly accept that Forest came and did a number on them and took their chances. Fulham will need to be better than that if they want to go up this year. Not everyone will come and lay down like Millwall did.

As for all these phantom handballs, I saw one possible shout in the first half when Worrall threw himself in front of a shot and it looked as if it may have struck his arm as it deflected away. But would have been incredibly harsh, whatever the stupid new rules say. No idea what the others they are talking about came from.

Now remember all of this for when some team comes to the City Ground and has a backs to the wall performance. Will we be moaning about it?

Thanks Calvin

"Can honestly say I've never seen time-wasting and gamesmanship like that before."

We see it every week when we are losing with 20 to go at home

Amazing how other teams see the ref is just as bad as we do against their side, especially after having lost

Seem like some fair comments though from the majority of Fulham fans

What a pleasure. I have treated myself with a nice Mediterranean meze on my balcony, had three (stopped counting afterwards) glasses of tsipouro and then read this. How enjoyable it was lolol

Thanks Calvin, some interesting comments.

Some of those fans are under the illusion that possession is what wins you the points. There's only one statistic that counts for anything and that's the number of goals scored. We scored more than they did so we won and took the 3 points.

Fortunately some of the sour grapes comments were balanced by the objective ones. They recognised that defending is as much a part of the game as attacking and we weren't there to play to their strengths and gift them a win. Other teams have done the same to us.

Some of their fans clearly think they are still a Premier League club and are entitled to beat any team that rocks up at their gaff. Spend more than a season in the Championship and that sense of entitlement will be knocked out of them.

Let's also look at Fulham's results compared to our own.

Fulham were beaten by Barnsley who are currently 4th from bottom. They beat Huddersfield who are currently second from bottom, Blackburn who are mid-table and Millwall who sit below us.

We beat Brum who are now mid-table, lost to West Brom who are above us, we drew away with Leeds and Charlton who are 1st & 3rd respectively. We beat them at their place and they were 3rd at start of play and we were 13th.

We've certainly had the tougher start to the season and our next two league games won't be easy either. Let's see how they fair when they play some of the better teams in the league.

Do fans turn into arrogant, self entitled pricks when they win promotion to the PL

Sheff U will be giving it the billy big bollocks in the championship next season

Were they actually handballs? I didn’t watch the game so I couldn’t tell, that’s basically the only reason why some of those f***ers thought they deserved it.

I sat in the stand on the side (Jonny Haynes?). There was no atmosphere and a lot of moaning. Appealing for fouls and handballs all the time. It was amusing reading our thread after where our fans are moaning we were against 12 men after listening to them saying the same.

I thought there was a block by Robinson in the box second half that looked like arm, he went down afterwards holding his balls/stomach. Suspected it was cover and he recovered suspiciously quickly, but couldn’t tell. But in general I think they were appealing without merit cos they were frustrated. Their expectations must be high, and they weren’t being met.

I thought that was just a Fulham chant they shouted it that often.
