Matchday 3: Birmingham City Fan Comments

We looked very good against Bristol with this formation and line up.

Very strong first team, just a wee bit worried at how weak the bench looks.

Forest dropped their new no.10 Silva and gone for 3 very competitive midfielders in the centre,* possibility we'll be out battled in this one.

Early doors but already clearly a tactic of Forest to sweep long balls over the top towards where Pedersen is,* not for the first time other teams I believe target him.

Neither team on top,* blues to me still look like going forward it's not quite right,* Forest more penetrive when they come forward.

1-0 forest feckin lolley again.

Always lolley ffs, against the run of play imo, undeserved.

Oh look Joe Lolley!*Shock horror.

Another nonsense yellow card for Sunjic. It's a bloody 50/50. Of course that little rat scores. eff off football.

Weak goalkeeping by Camp.

Shite that, weak defending, Camp will be disappointed not to have turned that round the post. Never a free kick though. Fair challenge from Sunjic.

Feels very harsh to be 1-0 down, we have looked good.

It really wasn't poor goalkeeping. Ffs we'd concede 2 goals a season if the goalies weren't poor according to our fans. Rubbish defending mind.

2-0 ffs blues.

Great, 2.

Lolley tearing us a new one.

Awful defending again.

2-0 now, That first goal took the wind out of us, we look scared, hope this doesn’t turn into a drubbing.

Awful defending from colin at the back post. - although in his defence he was surrounded by 2 forest players God knows how that was allowed to happen*

Davis stupidly giving the ball away in the first instance.

Lolley is a feckinh prick.

We look terrified of Lolley, he is ripping us apart.

This is what you get trying to play fancy football in the championship.

No it’s what poor defending gets you.

If Lolley is able to raise his game so much just because he's playing against Blues it doesn't say much for his professionalism. Is he just walking through the other gamaes?

Lolley is a rat but a very decent player.

Why Lolley every time FFs.

Putting Ameobe on Colin was smart. Dean at fault for goal.

We lack pace in attack that’s what stunts us, we have played quite nice on the ball at times, Peds is having a mare though in defence and tbf forest have some very good attacking players.

Their keeper hasnt broken sweat.

Jack Robinson has GG in his pocket, has taken the ball off him at virtually every duel.

We will get absoluteley nothing from this game without 2 strikers . If thats OK for the "Transisionistas " then thats fine but I thought the idea was to win every game you could not to ponce about in midfield in pretty triangles before fizzling out at the edge of the box.

3-0. Can't recall the last time we beat Forest.

Nearly a fourth. Forest really haven't looked any better than us.

Ahead on possession and shots, though. More important than points, as well documented here.

This refs an absolute knob aswell. I hate football sometimes.

Think the scoreline definitely flatters them.*We've not helped ourselves at all defensively.

Our heads have dropped,* no exaggeration to say forest could easily have had 2 or 3 more.

Getting the panning we could have had in the first two games.

Why does lolley turn into some fecking championship messi every time he plays us.

Should have been 4 Dean in no mans land again!

Should be 5-0.

Anyone who says the scoreline flatters them is kidding themselves .This should have happened against Brentford and could easily have happened last week.

Agree, they've been better all over the pitch.

We've completely gone to pot since the 3rd. They should have had 3 more easily since.

This has been an absolute pasting apart from the first 10minutes. Abysmal performance at the back, roberts and dean worry me why we sold morrison ill never know.

We're getting torn apart at the moment. Exposed down the wings 1v1 and 1v2 all the time, the midfield haven't shuffled over once to support the full backs.*

The defence has had a collective mare, Dean in particular has lost his man twice. Up to the first goal we were actually the better team but since that point we've not really troubled them. Haven't really looked like scoring all game.

We played pretty well last week but Bristol missed 3 or 4 one on ones, Brentford missed absolute sitters, Forest scored 3 and missed 4 absolute sitters. Bit of a pattern so far, let’s hope we tighten up.

We were defensively all over the place today, could of easily been 7 or 8.*

Really harsh mate, I don't think they deserved more than 6.

We looked what we are today a bunch of mis-fits with absolutely no leadership on the pitch, out muscled, out thought & ultimately out played by a Notts side who inexplicably (from Blues viewpoint) dare I say 'wanted' it more, 6-0 would have been a fair result, the chances they spurned.

We got away lightly with 3-0. Forest should have had at least six. You had to be there to appreciate how poor we were. A silent away end (in shock & disbelief) for most of the 2nd half says a lot.

Forest faster,* stronger and know what they're doing.* We've been outfought and out-thought from start to finish.

Delusion to realism in one short 90 minutes.
I can’t remember one time in the game where they marched us.

One of the best yet.

Forest haven't put in many almost perfect performances like that in recent years so you couldn't wait to see this. Smug.

You say that buts that’s how I saw it. Both sides were equal up until our 3rd then they began to chase it. I thought we struggled to dominate that game until Dawson knocked in the third. What we definetly were better at was organisation. We didn’t give Brum a sniff, it was a defensive masterclass. However this season is going to be like Moutinho at Man U. I think we are going to struggle against sides that sit in. We really don’t create a lot when teams sit in. However as the great man said you always build from the back and we are excellent there at the moment. We just need to add some more creativity and pace I think. I’m looking at Carvalho and Appiah who if they give us what we need could make us into a useful side.

Gosh, thanks Calvin. I enjoyed that.

Not often the comments of the opposition fans actually mirror our comments. In fact, they might have been more generous than some of our fans.

Not sure I can handle all the positive comments about us. I feel much more comfortable when we're the worst team they've played.

I know lolley scores against them a lot but as if one thought he’s unprofessional by only raising his game just against them. Did they not see how many goals, assists he got last season?

Nice to see that they are about as good as us when it comes to agreeing with each other.
Thanks Calvin.

Excellent read that. Quite funny in places.
Every clubs forum has its own mixture of opinions.
Glass half full, glass half empty, glass completely empty!!

Have to agree with the second post - 6 would have been about right!

Have to agree. They didn’t even muster up ‘Keep right on...” which is rare for them.

I thought their performance was shocking and I’d be concerned. Unless it was an off day but based on yesterday you’d have them down as relegation candidates.

My Blue-nose friends were in Cornwall, on holiday so for the first time in umpteen years (going back to 2000) we didn't attend a Forest Blues game together.
However, they are both of the opinion that unless something changes quickly Blues will be in a relegation scrap, and already the players seem to be lacking any sort of team spirit, and don't appear to support the manager.
(It seems that the Birmingham dressing room at St Andrew's is almost as hard to find as the Forest one at the City Ground!).
Their comments before the match were "Score 1 and you will beat us".
After the game they sent me a text saying "Told you!".
The BBC has in the match stats 2 shots on target for Brum.
I think the 2 efforts they refer to were both feeble, off balance attempts (1 from the head of Jutkiewic; the other I can't recall).
They still haven't scored in open play.
Crooked (allegedly) Chinese owners and the sacking over the summer of a very popular manager (among the Brum players and fans) and the failure to replace the departed stars of last season are all conspiring to condemn the Blues to League 1
