I absolutely despise this culture we've developed where winning fouls is more important than scoring goals. Haaland today is the worst one yet. Wasn't even a foul never mind in the box, and a great chance goes missing. Jack does it several times a game.

I'd hate to be that person who supports a club that's right at the top and nothing is good enough. 2nd in the league isn't good enough. Being in the Champions League isn't good enough. Winning FA Cups, League Cups and Premier Leagues isn't good enough.

That's why I think the ones who remember the dark days of League 1 would not be acting like that. They'd appreciate.

I looked at their pre and post-match comments - to be fair there were many fans who warned that we wouldn't be a push over cited our recent record and said how much we'd improved since the start of the season. That said the most common score prediction was probably a 3-1 City win. When the line-ups came out they were cock-a-hoop and really liked the look of their side.

Postmatch the 180 was remarkable, they slated the side and Pep calling it disgraceful, worst of the season, called for a complete squad overhaul and were scathing about the quality of the side and didn't have a good word to say about any of their side. Extraordinary.

I have a mate who went loads in the 80’s and 90’s and he genuinely doesn’t really enjoy it now. When they first won the premier league in 2013 (or whenever it was) he was emotional about it. Now he says he’s totally not bothered and he used to go to away games galore in league one etc..

I went to Uni in Manchester and then did my post-grad in Leeds, no contest, Manchester was way better - mind you (sigh) this was back in the days of Madchester, the city was a gritty shit-hole in the main (the IRA bomb improved the place for christ's sake) Leeds I found a soulless place

There’s another thread that Rocka regularly contributes to which bemoans the influence of tv money on our great game …. when you read some of the total shite some of the city fans are spouting, it just underlines how big bucks have just ruined the game. A club who won nowt for years and years now has fans who are so entitled it’s just embarrassing.
What happened to actually enjoying when your team plays fantastic football? City are absolutely amazing to watch at times (when they’re not playing us of course!) and yet some of their fans are so stupid, they just can’t enjoy it. To make it even worse they then slag off one of the best modern coaches that has graced the game - their f***ing manager no less, who has helped bring them untold success. Totally staggering really

City were good, clearly a level above us considering their entire side had an absolutely perfect first touch and weight of pass. Should have won the game too.

But Forest were dogged. They defended well and limited an exceptionally good side to only a few good chances, which is about the most you can hope for.

And in the final fifteen minutes when we opened up a bit more to chase a result the game became more even. You could sense a potential Forest goal coming.

Thought for all City's excellence on the ball, the game was played how Forest would have wanted it to be played.

Still think they'll win the league.

Yes they’ve probably been turned into an elite club with mental and probably illegal amounts of investment, they simply aren’t as big as United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real, Barce, Inter, Juve, AC … and never ever will be

I’m not old at all but even I remember when they were fumbling about season after season bouncing from manager to manager. Up and down the divisions…

Their fall could be hard and grim and a team like ‘little Forest’ could very well play with the big boys too.

Oh and you’re not even the biggest club in your city … you’ll do well to remember that.

City were the long suffering ‘big club’ through my childhood and into my adult years. But they were likeable, nobody disliked Man City, they were a bit like Sheff Weds; big ground, history and loyal supporters.

Suppose success breeds arrogance though. Said it many times, I don’t recognise clubs like City and Chelsea anymore, they reinvented themselves and just became a soulless product.

Mix of proper fans who no doubt followed the league one days as passionately as they do now and the Johnny come lately types who are essentially knobbers who started passionately supporting them coincidentally when the oil money started flowing and think teams should roll over and surrender to their (bought) greatness.

They should have won but they didn't. We did one bit of supreme passing play and succeeded in scoring so actually were the more efficient team (!).
