Anyone would think Forest had rather recently properly pissed on their chips.

Or something.
That final really burns because they're thinking they would have kept hold of their manager, they wouldn't be selling O'Brien and would be in a position where they are probably buying similar players to improve their squad as we're doing right now.

One for now and for the future. Great price and is exactly the type of personality and player type we want. I don't see any negatives at all.

Yep, it’s been said before, but it was a proper Sliding Doors moment for both clubs. Although on the evidence of their previous visit to the top flight, I trust Forest to make a better fist of it than Udders did.

I'm not for a moment suggesting he's anywhere even remotely close to that level (as yet anyway) but, for me, O'Brien has echoes of the great Alan Ball in terms of his one/two-touch passing and energy.
Can you remember Alan Ball being man marked out of a game by Paul 'golden balls' Richardson?

Absolute no brainer signing. Capable of making the step up, adds depth, and fits in with our system. Quality!

Agree 100 percent. I will hold my hand up and be honest in saying that I was quite anxious going into this transfer windoe. Not that I didn't trust Cooper but just that not sure what type of player we could get for what we would be willing to spend, etc etc. Glad to say that those anxious thoughts are gone. Our transfer business has been immense, and I am quite sure there is more to come!

Great time being a Forest fan right now!

Not to get hung up on tit-for-tat what aboutery but you make it sound like he literally never uses his right foot at all - he does heavily favour his left foot but its a good foot so why not use it the majority of the time but if you look at the first video posted at BryanRoy he shows excellent balance and uses both feet when required:
1:06
1:13 passes with right foot at
1:18 very nice switch left right left
2:26 turns on his right
2:36 chips the ball over defender with right
3:08 forward pass to winger at end of run with right foot

Yeah also noticed the occasional use of his right. Sorry it was just my first thought after watching the video the first time, didn’t mean to cause so much unrest on here

The lad is 5 foot 8.

I'm pretty sure the only player under 6 foot we've signed since Cooper joined is Ojeda, right?

No its fine honestly - we are a bunch of pedants who are swift to take on and challenge views and argue the toss but hopefully with wit and charm (and squirrels)

Not seen enough of him to be confident about his ability to step up but he had a cracking season last year, is the right age and if nothing else would be hard to play against alongside Yates.

Wonder if we are to set up with a couple of box to box types behind a (mobile) CAM - not sure I've seen us linked to an out and out CDM? Yates, O'Brien and MGW would be some championship midfield. If they can transfer that to the level above great, though I'd hope for a couple more, at least one of whom has some prem experience. Not easy to find at the wage structure we appear to be going for...
