Quote Tor: "Physical play? I have never seen a more duell-shy player in my 40 years as a Forest fan. Not he wins head duels, not he enters the head duels either. On the ground, he was an easy match against all the stops he met, lost the ball BEFORE opponent was in his body. But it will be interesting to see, the Premier League is not Championship .... but I hope when they have scouted and not seen the YouTube highlights I watched before he came to the Forest .... then I thought we'd got a good player. First lazy Bendtner, now Veldwijk .... Tippeligaen use Forest as farmer team :) COYR"

One of a handful of blokes I’ve seen in the Garibaldi who made me question my decision to not take football seriously as a kid. If he can play for Forest, anyone can. Useless.

Personally I think we have had worse players - especially under Megson. But I am not sure that Veldwijk was worse than say Diakhaby. There was something there but for some reason we didn't really nurture it.

The moral of the Veldvyck affair is never to place any faith in You Tube videos.

Second touch was always a tackle, looked like a competition winner.

Worst Ive seen.

One of my mates worked in Suwon last year for a few months and went to watch them without knowing he played for them. He only realised after 10 mins it was him when they kept launching it up to him and he kept getting outjumped by a 5'10 CB

I'm not bothered about Diakhaby, I am just greatful he played for us knowing that we could never spend over £10m that badly.... right...?

Huddersfield make some truly shocking signings when they were in the Prem.

I didn’t say he was worse than Diakhaby.

Diakhaby is also included in the handful I mentioned.

But Veldwijk was absolutely shite and could trap it further than I could kick it.

Whatever the “something” that you say was there was, I never saw it.

Dumitriu is the first that always comes to my mind. Dreadful

Lica as well, though he didn't play much. And Carayol, who had always done OK against us for Boro, but was typically useless when we got him.

In fact most of the stuff we signed under Montanier/Pereira summer just wasn't good enough.

Pereira was the only one who looked any good but he seemed to get sent off every week.
Lam, Perquis, literally not good enough defensively or physically for the Championship.
Henderson is probably the worst first team keeper I have seen for us, even replacing him with Smith when he got injured was an improvement. And he got dropped for Mad Vlad which says a fair amount too because he was also shite.
Armand Traore was also a waste of money as he was always injured.
Do we need to mention Lord Bendtner, Zach Clough, and the other toss which never played like Aryibi or Teixeira?

Veldwijk was toss but these were no better if not worse.

I think only Dumitru/Diakhaby were worse for me, most others did decent things now and again at least.

Diakhaby is a popular one to say is the worst because of the context around it. He did have one or two decent games where his pace was useful. He just wasn't good enough.

Dumitru was dog crap from the very beginning and playing in a much much worse side, and god knows why we signed him. He came in talking about being better than Chris Burke who he was replacing at the time if I recall correctly as well.

But Zach Clough remains my pick as our worst signing despite an average start, simply because of the amount of money he cost the club over his contract. Pretty sure he was our highest earner whilst being on loan to Rochdale and not even making their bench.

I see your Zach Clough and raise you one Matty Fryatt.

Or even that fat bloke who didn't show up to training because he couldn't open the gate on his drive. I've totally forgotten his name.

Ross McCormack.

But that wasn’t with us, that was at Villa and that’s why Bruce binned him off to us.

Fryatt was a class player before the injury, like Cohen, Hobbs and Reid who were out at the same time. Did I misremember this, I seem to think the club mismanaged his treatment as well as Hobbs' so he never really came back from it.
