Lars Veldwijk

It's Baggio

John Robertson
Leicester City are showing interest in Dutch goalscoring sensation Lars Veldwijk.

The 6ft 5ins striker plays for Excelsior in Holland's second division but has grabbed the attention of scouts by scoring 30 goals in 38 games this season.

The 22-year-old was close to joining Roda in January but ultimately Excelsior rejected the bids.
Leicester are keen to bring in a target man after having a bid rejected for Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa, however, they will face competition for Veldwijk from Midlands neighbours Nottingham Forest.

Incoming manager Stuart Pearce has been spotted at recent Excelsior games and he is looking to recruit a striker for the new season.

Is there anywhere Pearce hasn't been in Europe this month? He's spending all the Gunter money to top up his tan.

No. I'm not having another twat-haired white boy with f***ing sleeve tattoos at the club. What's the point in winning the Champion's League trophy if you are stood there looking like an idiot holding it?

I'd like to see you say that to his face :D

Perhaps he can persuade Lansbury to stay. They can be tattoo friends

Not tall enough for Nottingham Forest.
Good name though.

Can't argue with his goal-scoring record, albeit in a very different league.

(More chance of signing Uncle Owen Lars)

Types of goals are important when at a lower level.

He scores a mixture to be fair. He definitely has something, plays well on the shoulder and seems to be a good link-up man too.

Would definitely be worth a go imo.

Hard to compare when the standard of that league is so poor. He doesn't look any better than what we've got, most of his 1 on 1's hit the keeper, and then the keeper gives it him back

To be fair, I've seen worse defending in our league this year. Some of it by us.

This guy looks like a good finisher with good hold up play. Probably would do well as the centre of a front 3.

I know it's only a highlights video, but he looks quite handy for a big fella. As someone above said, he looks a better footballer than Henderson.

He looks better than that Mulenga geezer we were linked with last summer anyway - he looked crap even in his highlights reel!
