I don't think it quite works like that on the wages front. In many cases a potential club will pay what the same as parent club. However, a player may be happy to earn less, so might agree to that, or sometimes the parent club will pay difference. In rare cases, a club who really want said player and won't need to fork out huge fees, will pay a higher weekly wage to get him. i.e Navas might be on £150k per week, but wanted £200k to play in Saudi etc.. Whereas, we might offer £100k per week, with PSG picking up remainder, or player earning less.

Lots of unknowns tho - Henderson’s injury might take longer to recuperate, and we might already know that he’s not staying past this season. If so, a new GK now on a permanent deal isn’t the worst idea
