Thats such a fabulous statement.

Having him play for the Garibaldi was another one of those, my word we've made it, moments.

A genuinely legendary keeper and one who contributed hugely to us staying up. I hope he goes to reclaim his spot at PSG or otherwise end up at an equally big gig.

Thank you Keylor.

Yeah and none of Henderson's across the two compilation videos. His late save from van Dijk at home to Liverpool definitely deserved to be in there.
I don't think we had 1 goal in the 3 goal of the season vids. I know we have'nt scored loads but the team goals against City and Saints and the Johnson goals v Leeds and Everton were better than some.

Still seems absolutely ludicrous to me that we, Forest, had Keylor Navas playing in goal for us. Actual 3 times Champions League winning, genuinely world class Keylor Navas.

Just surreal. I remember watching us get stuffed in the 3rd division at Oakwell in the pissing rain with Rune Pedersen in goal - whoever the f*** he was. How we somehow ended up in this position will baffle me forever - but I'm grateful.

And he more than did his bit to keep us in the league. No airs and graces. No ego. Just a solid professional who embraced the club and what our mission was.

He was only here for a while and, if we do see him again, it will likely be in goal for someone else, but he will forever have his little place in Forest's history - and Forest fans will always be able to say they saw Keylor Navas play for Forest. Actual Keylor Navas.

The funniest thing about it is that some were underwhelmed by actual Keylor Navas. You couldn't make it up!

Yatesey was saying in an interview with Colin Fray that you'd never believe Navas had won what he's won, he's so humble.

😂😂😂😂 Rune Pedersen! Ow I have so many players that I disliked in the past 20 years. Its not their fault they played for us but it was so so frustrating

What’s even funnier is I’ll never think of this supreme professional and world class talent again without associating him with overdoing it on cheeky vimto in walkabout and spending the night in the cells🤣

Got to be one of the funniest & most random rumours ever with hindsight. That was the day before the Southampton game as well.

Not sure what was worse the actual rumour or certain posters getting angry at Navas - calling him unprofessional and saying he doesn't give a shit (can you guess who?)

I don't think we have had a more professional player play for us :ROFLMAO:

It was obviously bullshit from the start. Even putting aside Navas' clear professionalism, just think about what the rumour actually was on its most basic level:

Incredibly high profile and unbelievably decorated player signs for a newly promoted club in a relegation battle - already quite the story - yet he then goes on to get pissed, arrested and spends a night in the slammer just before one of the biggest games of the season?

No f***ing way the press don't get ahold of that story and run it.

Pretty ridiculous to think Keylar Navas joined Nottingham Forest for a relegation battle.

I look forward to getting Messi on loan once the MLS ends to fire us into Europe next season.

Sarah Clapton and her team must have been on holiday when that story appeared on here.

Apart from the self-professed tee totaller who had talked about alcohol in the game.

And also the over night bird.

Yes, definitely bullshit.

I thought he wasn't that bad, certainly at that level. We've definitely had worse keepers...

I thought he was shocking because he looked terrible and we were in the third tier.

If we're looking for "worse keepers" then it really can only be one of the L1 keepers which was Pedersen, Hoult, Gerrard, Smith. Hoult and Gerrard had plenty of top division experience and Smith got us promoted with a record number of clean sheets. And Pedersen was definitely the worst of that lot.

We've had keepers who looked dodgy in the 2nd tier (and I'd certainly include Smith in that despite his good form in L1), even the kenco kid, Luke Steele, Muric, Jordan Smith (despite that save), maybe even Darren Ward, but they were playing at a higher level. Even Roche saved a pen on his debut as a 18 year old or so and then kept a clean sheet on his first full appearance and played many times at the level we are comparing Pedersen at for Morecambe.

I'd say comfortably the worst really

Henderson was the worst for me (not Dean obviously). Luckily he only lasted a short time and I guess played less than 5 games!!

Yes that one is close but it was in the Championship so for me Pedersen still edges it.

Stojkovic was a bit crazy but he was an experienced full international and wasn't that bad really. We were scrambling around that season after DDV went to Smelltic after 1 game so I think they just got who they could.

We've usually had decent keepers so the ones who are absolutely terrible stand out really.

P Smith was a decent L1 keeper but didn't step up so we got Camp in for a bit and then I think after that a couple of questionable loans like Iain Turner and Smith played a fair amount of the decent run under Billy I think so presumably the setup helps too. Then we got Camp permanently which set us up for a bit with Darlow reserve until we got rid of Camp then DDV took over. All those years we were largely fine and actually before then since relegation with Beasant and Crossley at first then Ward with Roche reserve, then Paul Gerrard. Megson couldn't spot anything though so his keepers were shite. People moan at Pantilimon on here but he was a perfectly capable CH keeper but then we got an improvement in Samba and ended up going up because of our defence mainly. Then this season having Navas and Hendo has been off the scale really - and actually made Hennessey look average when he too is a vastly experienced PL and international GK.

Then we had Rune Pedersen in L1.

I can't even remember Pedersen playing apart from in a game for the reserves where I remember him having the loudest voice I have ever heard.

Stephen Henderson, Jordan Smith & Muric were the worst three for me.
