He gave it away no question.

But we’ve conceded 21 and they all play in the same game. Kouyate doesn’t get the same grief for hauling down whoever for Maddison to stick in in from the free kick.

He’s certainly not playing well but he’s by no means as bad as people like to make out. Far too reactionary.
Didn't cost us 25mil with potential to get to 40mil either

I've saud before bit he was a free transfer but his profile makes people act like he's a bank breaker like carvalho.

His wages are a tiny percentage of the money we got for promotion, MGW was our number one must have record transfer. Yet the way the two are discussed you'd think one had actually performed much better than the other despite both looking below what's needed

I'd love to know if they're both lazy or if they're being told not to get back defensively, Johnson too for that matter. If it was one of them then fine, but all three aren't doing it and all three continue to start, so might be managers decision

Reactionary, he's been poor from the start of the season?

Thing is I see more in Morgan than Lingard in terms of their ability to change a game. The fact at the moment they're playing similar roles in the same team can't help. We need to play just one and it has to be MGW.

I’m neutral on him but he’s been average from the start, not poor, with a few decent patches and a few errors. In terms of the league you’re right, but in terms of Forest, I’d say not.

It's one of the reasons why the best sides are yet another level apart. Forward players who haven't got a desire to work their arses off for the team and do the defensive side as well as attacking don't get play in teams like city and Liverpool.

A massive kick up the back side is required for everyone of our attackers as they are massively letting down the rest of the team at a time when we are struggling and need to show a bare minimum of work rate to stay in games.

If you are rating him against the rest of the team, yes it's a very low bar. He's one of the players who've come in with an expectancy though, the team needs some inspiration and he should be one doing his upmost to provide it.

I don’t doubt he’s trying hard as Cooper keeps picking him but like the entire team, nothing is clicking yet. He’s no different to anyone else really and it just seems harsh to bash him like Talksport when it’s plain to see it’s not just him.

He was pish today, but I wouldn't be too hard on any of the players until they are part of a functioning team.

Not sure why he’s getting such a bad press. He certainly does track back and press, and wouldn’t have been there to make that duff clearance for the goal on the edge of the box if he was trying. And that wasn’t nearly as bad an error as Kouyate’s foul for the Maddison free kick.

More importantly he has quality going forward and if we could only string a few decent forward passes together we might see a bit more from him. Think he lacks confidence like the rest of them otherwise he would have slotted that chance he got. Let’s hope he doesn’t come on here.

Lingard is a genius business man...... knowing we just got promoted after 100 years away and the cheque book was coming out, he asked for 180 grand a week, and club said sorry we really want you and your elbrity status, but we can only go up to 120 grand a week""
Lingard's response.......... "where do I sign?"

MGW has created numerous chances and has looked far, far better with the ball. Actually one of few players so far who looks up to this level.

As for Lingard, nice that he’s getting back to help but perhaps it’s best he doesn’t.

At West Ham he was in the Zinckernagel position, getting the ball around half way and starting off attacks. I’m not sure he can play anywhere else.

It’s like when we used to try and shoehorn McGugan into centre mid when he just wasn’t one and even gave a penalty away if I remember rightly.

Think he realises that his World Cup dream is over. He should be influencing games much more by now, and he isn't. We are now in a position that we need players that dig in, fight, give it their all and not just trot through games with a few fancy flicks and kicks.

Kouyate was horrible today too. Positionally he was all over the place, and badly caught out preceding the foul. He was our best player a few games ago. Today he was arguably (alongside Neco) our worst. Lingard is 29, he's played a ton of games at a high level, and he shoudl be expected to perform at a better level. That is two goals he has been directly responsible for this season, both on massive gaffs. We are lucky he is up the field. And up there, teh odd good ball, pretty much nothing else. It's been terrible for what he is supposed to be, talent wise.

I had high expectations for Lingard. I wasn’t perturbed by his social media antics and profile but wondered then if he’d live up to the hype.

I don’t doubt he has the ability.

We’ve yet to see it on the pitch.

He was good pals with Pogba, right?

His chance at the end of the first half summed up his time here for me so far:

ooh great ball - he has talent... nice movement and a real desire to have it back... acres of room here... why's he taken that touch? and why didn't he get it under when he did? and when he let the chance pass, why did he still take a hopeful swing?

Looks a broken confidence player to me currently.

Yes, totally.

I’d stick with him a bit longer in the hope he can eventually do a bit of what he did it West Ham.

Awful last night as he has been all season.

Apparently Cooper had sat him down & suggested he should be doing more, if last night was his response, then Id stick him with the kids for the rest of the season.
