Without doing anything? Have you not seen the Selfie stick video from the Arsenal game?!?!He should stay for free next season and start earning the massive wages he's been paid from this season without doing anything

I haven't seen it.Without doing anything? Have you not seen the Selfie stick video from the Arsenal game?!?!
I'll have you know that earned our brand 5000 more followers on Instagram. If anything we're not paying him enough.Without doing anything? Have you not seen the Selfie stick video from the Arsenal game?!?!
His delight wouldn’t have anything to do with a “staying up” bonus, would it? That’s what my cynical side says. The other side sees the delight on his face and the way the rest of the squad is with him. They obviously love him.f*** it give him another year
Maybe moreI haven't seen it.
Was it worth 100 grand a week for a year???
It's probably better in a way that this didn't come to pass, otherwise he'd go and be leaving a pretty big hole in the side that'd need plugging. If he had replicated his West Ham form, he'd of been back in contention for England and probably leaving us for a team higher up the league this summer.
Or China. Then he can work on finding a cheap factory to make shitloads of JLinz merch. He's obviously a guy with a big personality, very likeable etc. But he was poor on field, and spent much of the season injured. No. Let him go make an obscene wage somewhere else. I don't think he'll have a big problem finding that option.Yeah I think he ends up in America or the Middle East.
He's not getting a Premier League gig again unfortunately for him given he burned bridges with the club that really liked him and he's flopped at a newly-promoted club. Only way he gets another PL gig is if he goes to Coventry or Luton for like £15k a week, he aint gonna do that.
Clubs in America and the Middle East who place as much emphasis on reputational boosts will pay him the money he wants.
I could definitely see him ending up at one of the promoted clubs, especially given the amount of money they all seem to be planning on spending.I don't think he leaves the UK, seems like family is extremely important to that lad.
Yeah and anyway his involvment was cut short here via constant injury, we SAW what he would offer against Spurs in the cup. If he can get his fitness tiptop this summer, he is still capable of doing well in this league. Maybe Burnley?I could definitely see him ending up at one of the promoted clubs, especially given the amount of money they all seem to be planning on spending.
Was about to say I could see him at Burnley. Not a million miles from home for him.Yeah and anyway his involvment was cut short here via constant injury, we SAW what he would offer against Spurs in the cup. With a mere 77k followers on Instagram it's looking more like Coventry if they go up. Luton only have a few more as well in case him and his selfie stick fancy it down at Kenilworth Road.Yeah and anyway his involvment was cut short here via constant injury, we SAW what he would offer against Spurs in the cup. If he can get his fitness tiptop this summer, he is still capable of doing well in this league. Maybe Burnley?
I'm sure I read sheff U's warchest was quoted as being £20mI could definitely see him ending up at one of the promoted clubs, especially given the amount of money they all seem to be planning on spending.
Remember when we spent about that in the championship under Karanka and were stuck with the moniker "Big spending Nottingham Forest"! Basically they've got a budget to pay big Sam for about 15 games!I'm sure I read sheff U's warchest was quoted as being £20m
An excellent summaryHindsight's a wonderful thing.
Maybe he cost us £10m, but his signing was a real statement of intent and I'm sure was a factor in luring other players to the club. We all hoped he could replicate his West Ham form. He didn't. But anyone in the game who speaks about him says he's a top professional and a good squad member. He has 30 odd caps, and is clearly not shit.
He was messed about by Man U last year, which meant he had a lot of ground to make up. He was just coming into form when he got injured. I suspect if he'd gone to West Ham it would have been a similar story, given they also struggled for 2/3 of the season.
It didn't work out on the pitch, but the fact that he obviously supported the squad behind the scenes means he leaves with my best wishes.
Not 100% I agree.I’m completely fine with the Lingard deal but yes it hasn’t worked out. Was he the statement of intent that we all think though? Look at the dates of transfer and there were good players signed well before him.
Completely see that but equally, if you look at the players after him then its fairly similar. I do still think it was a statement signing as it certainly felt it at the time (so that’s the crucial bit) but it’s not like he came in as one of our very first signings. Not 100% I agree.
So yes, we now know TA and MN (whom I assume you refer to) are "good players" but I also doubt anyone who doesn't follow the Bundesliga would have heard of them.
The rest was youth cover and hedging our bets with players who would be fine in PL if they stepped up too (HT, LOB) or younger players from abroad (GB, BA), No-one really knows about OR as he hadn't played for us this season and went to Bayern from the CH.
The Lingard signing was a statement of intent in that it was the first established player with specific PL experience that we brought in - in fact, loans aside, he has been a PL player all his career. You could at a stretch include NW and WH in that but they were cover players.
