It's almost as if the club would benefit by...having some patience
But imagine if we didn't signed one or two of the new centre mids, had the exact same start, Garner transfer didn't happen...Forest would be getting slaughtered for their incompetence except we also wouldn't have options to bring in

For what it's worth I thought Mangala looked like much more what we needed in the centre of midfield, and it's typical the two injured new guys are the two who you'd think would make a huge difference and had been straight in the team

Except for we didn't know what Man U were going to do (because they didn't either), so we either waited until deadline day and risked screwing up the midfield rebuild or we moved on.
The mature choice was to move on...

Theres one caveat on this and that's that if Jimmy himself had kicked up a fuss and asked for a move at the beginning of the summer I think it would have happened, he wanted his "shot" at playing for them and that led to this....

There was always the option of just taking it a bit easier with signings, and seeing how Garner's obviously unpredictable situation panned out.

Just how many CM's have we signed? I'm sure we could have still covered that area and reserved a signing for Jimmy.

But Que Sera.

If's and buts.

Ultimately Garner or 9m is a steal, and I think the fact that he was already well integrated here would have made life a lot easier for us.
I'm not sure if the "ifs and buts" it meant to be about what I said, but both sides of this argument, mine and yours, are ifs and buts. Just like 99.9% of the things on here are ifs, buts, maybes and opinions

We could always just start talking in pure fact but it would make things quite boring "Johnson scored a goal" "mckenna back pass was bad" "I liked the part where we scored 2 goals but disliked the part where we let in 3 goals" lol

Garner looking really good for Everton against United.
Wish we had bought him now, but i was against it at the time.
I think saying he looked really good is a bit pushing it, the shot was a good one, but he was also caught reacting too slow at one point, committed a couple of fouls and (apparently!) Only touched the ball 8 times so not really much to go on

That said it was nice to see him make his debut, it's just annoying I can't hope he does too well as Everton are one of the teams we want to lose every game!

I watched it live, he looked dynamic and Everton improved when he came on.

Aye the lad done well when he come on, when Everton get relegated we will bring him home at a cut price 🙏

Should definitely have him at the top of the list if everton go down.
Don't worry he's a central midfielder. Even if he's halfway down a list of 50 he'll be a Forest player next year.

When Everton get relegated, step in with a derisory 2 million offer

Of all our loanees from last year Jimmy is the one I wanted the most - it's a shame about the timings of our summer business and his availability, but I hope to see him back one day and suspect one way or another we just might...

Edit: and I mean as a forest player - everton are so all over the place managerially and financially we might get an opening at some point.
