I think this guy is the one. A shining light in a mediocre Bristol City team, scoring the magical 20+ goals this season.

25 is the right age too, ready to come in and hit the ground running.

Simon Cox scored 29 goals in a season in League One. Just saying.

Troy Deeney only scored 27 in 127 for Walsall at that level too.

It's easy to be blinded by goal scoring stats, but what's most important is the style of the player, and the system your team will play.

Simon Cox isn't as bad as people make out, he is devoid of confidence however, which happened to pretty much every striker under Billy Davies, because he makes his strikers play in a way which is not conducive to them scoring goals.

Jordan Rhodes could have played for us this season and I bet he wouldn't have got as many as the 24 he has for Blackburn.

I do like the look of Baldock, he plays on the shoulder and scores all kinds of goals.

Hopefully Pearce has a style of play already in mind, and can identify a striker or two that will suit that style, rather than just looking for someone who has a good record of scoring.

I liked him when he played for MK Dons, especially towards the end of his time there but WHU nipped in and he was there. Didn't thrive but I still think he has the makings and if the money is right, why not take the risk. Anyway, Steve Cotteril owes us a favour so I'm sure we will get him cheap :nowink:

Heard this a few times. Complete bull in regard to this season. Cox has fluffed so many chances he has effectively cost Billy his career not the other way round......

Cox needs to be made to run around the block a few times every morning over the summer.

Much prefer Deeney though. Not saying we should be route one, but having a bit of pace AND size will definitely improve things if the price is right :sunday:
