In search of next season's striker: Sam Baldock

Just scored his 18th of the season for Bristol City in league 1...

Don't know if he can make the step up but can't be worse than Cox and Co.

Played for Wham in the Championship. 5 goals.

cox is more than good enough for a promotion chasing team, we dont need a 20 goal a season striker to go up

Are we officially writing the Terrorist off after his one start? I genuinely think Billy will consider renewing Derbyshire's contract for a lower wage in the summer - he won't let Miller, Tudgay and him all leave at once.

I would like to see what he can do after a decent preseason and a bit of time with the team. I still think if we give him the ball in the penalty area that he will score this season mind. Some of Abdoun's delivery around the 6 yard box are waiting for someone to bang them in.

Not at all, but with Miller, Derbyshire and Tudgay out of contract you've gotta think that we will bring in a striker or two?

Blackstock seemingly out of favour/free to leave?

Djebbour is very much untested.

Cox and Hendo...

This ^

In the few minutes Djebbour has been on the pitch he has made some really good runs.
What we need is Reid, Lansbury and Abdoun also on the pitch to be able to spot those runs Djebbour makes.
He hasn't had the quality playing behind him yet that he needs. There is no doubt at all that he has ability and he knows where the onion bag is.

I think a player like Djebbour would benefit from having Reid, Lansbury and Cohen on the team at the same time, it provides options from all angles.

I definitely think Djabbour will be good for us. If we could just get him a decent run in the team alongside Reid, Paterson, Adboun, we will reap the rewards. It would be nice to have another striking option however, just to replace the departing players like Miller, Derbyshire, Tudgay, etc.

Well am hoping Djebbour turns out to be good otherwise what we've wasted another 1.5 m euros on a striker. Billy can't keep wasting money. If I was fawaz I'd be wary of giving him loads in the summer to blow on another flop. He's got to find the right partnership up front and get the best out of what he's got and yea maybe only add one more, lower league gem a la baldock maybe. And get rid of tudgay, Derbyshire, and miller

That Kris Boyd being banging them in for Kilmarnock this season, scored another two great goals last Saturday. Should have gone in for him...

He is the joint SPL top scorer thus far with 18 league goals, with that other kris who used to play for us..
