Harry Stefano Toffolo

It was reported that it was an issue outside the two clubs.

Perhaps his wife was reluctant to move home or something like that.

It was his (probably his agent) wage demands and he lowered them in the end according to the Athletic. Possibly Forest leaking the worst case scenario to the media to scare him into doing it?

Anyone already feeling negative about this one probably can’t stand it now haha. Hasn’t made a good first impression on fans, that’s for sure. Still, good depth, but realistically we are hoping he never has to see the field and Richards owns the spot

So to summarize, this was all a heatwave fever dream and he signed as planned?
All we need now is Bobby Ewing to pop out the shower, and that’ll be it!

Rather than just assume that Toffolo suddenly made unreasonable demands at the 11th-hour, I'm minded to equally speculate that the agent wasn't satisfied with his fee and kicked-off.
That sounds far more likely, to be fair, hence the „outside both clubs“ comment.

But then who would have told reporters like The Athletic that it was a wage demand issue? The agent wouldn’t, the clubs wouldn’t if it wasn’t the case

Most reporters are given crumbs and try to put together a loaf of bread, a lot of the stuff they pump out is based on an element of truth and then jazzed up with semi calculated assumptions. Let's say they knew a hurdle had been hit with the terms of the transfer, in this scenario it would be more likely that the personal terms would be the hurdle as opposed to the fee of the transfer (which had already been 'publicly' reported)

I have no idea what the issues are/were, but I do know we've maintained interest in quite a few other LWBs throughout. In my personal opinion he's good to have around, not saying he's necessarily 'prem ready' and wouldn't want to be relying on him regularly (his defensive weaknesses are a bit of a concern) but he's got enough about him going forwards that he should be worth a place in the squad, especially considering the price he's available for

He's just as valuable as O'Brien for me.

I like the look of Richards but Toffolo is coming right into his prime. Last season was his best ever, scoring goals and assisting for fun.

He looked a quality wing-back who could make the step up.

This is the right type of competition the squad and Cooper needs.

Well if he comes I have pre judged him to be a greedy so and so who deserves to be sent on loan to league one Derby County and moved into a flat in Allenton. Will no doubt go on strike when we sell Lolley to some Turkish outfit. The Hudds mafia. (I may of had a drink)

I knew a Lester when I was growing up. He was a complete shit.

After school, we went swimming lessons together. He liked to spray shaving foam all over the changing rooms and nicking people's stuff.

There's never been a good Lester/Leicester, apart from Piggott.

Jack Lester was alright. Except of course while he’s at the blades he’s a cock.

To imagine you're a journalist and get some insight in to how hard it is remember what its like to have two or more mates who have fallen out over something and are telling you "the truth" from their perspective. One's aggrieved another doesn't think its big deal, the first says it was deliberate the second says it was an accident, a third says he was told by the first, the first says that's a lie he never did. One reckons it goes back to something that someone said 6 months ago the others don't have a clue what they're on about. Now you have to sift through what they've all said (putting your own feeling to one side) and write it up a single "true" version of what's happened and even what should happen next. .

When I was at journalism school we used to go through an exercise of interviewing 5 people who were witness or part of an accident. You speak to five people you get five different versions, were they speeding or not, looking at the road ahead or not, did someone run out, could the driver have seen, could they have stopped, was there a delay? Then consider that at least one person is lying another might be biased, a third didn't really see anything but is excited about being interviewed and a fourth knows more than they are saying but don't want to get anyone in trouble while the fifth wants someone to pay the price. Put all that together, making sure you're obeying the rules when there's a possible court case brewing and that you're not libelling anyone.

Great job really miss it sometimes.

Can you remember when we got Davies and Cohen from Yeovil? Davies never really delivered...not his fault. But Cohen turned out superb. Both OBrien and Toffolo looked excellent, they've got to hit the ground running considering the step up.

Actually both look like exactly the kind of characters that will fit in. Good signings, and the way town are squealing I do feel for them...but you know, f*** em..get the fireworks ready

The only real difference is Toffolo and O’Brien didn’t hand us our arses in their previous games quite the way Davies and Cohen did
