Wasserman group are Toffolos agency, Mckenna (Meant to have been offered a new deal but not heard any more about that), Lolley (Packed off to the u23s) and Surridge are also clients.

Not sure if there's anything in it but for it to be cocked up at the last minute something has changed, be that after the medical or after terms have been agreed.

Sounds like Toffolo was being brought in as backup and got offered backup wages and no guaranteed game time. If you’re a player and get offered champ wages to sit on a prem bench it’s probably not that appealing if you want to play and can do both in the championship.

He really thought he was going to get first team football here? Move on and try to negotiate for just O'brien.

TalkSport saying Toffolo not happy with the money offered and wanted first team football.
Its just the cash really though isn't it, first team football is what he already has at Huddersfield and you would think if there was any other demand from Premier league teams the price for him would be higher.

He's never played in the Premier league and you would argue that this would be his best chance of doing that given the lack of interest from anyone else. If he wants first team football he can just stay put and I'm sure that will delight his agents who then get the square root of naff all from any deal.

He would also have been aware that we have signed a LWB from Bayern Munich when entering negotiations.

Not too bothered whether Toffolo signs or not, but I hope the O'Brien transfer doesn't collapse too.

I think we just need to renegotiate a deal for just O'brien. He had done his medical etc. So he clearly wanted to come.

EM didn’t get where he is by throwing his money around & conceding at the first sign of non agreement.
Any sign of weakness will be shared with other players / agents in no time.
There are some shrewd operators out there - Daniel Levy at Spurs to name but one.
If LOB wants to come then they will find a way.
If Toffolo has cold feet there are other left backs around - unfortunate but these things happen.
If Camara is on the list - he’ll be here at minimal cost.
If Garner comes ( I think he will ) it will be on a loan to buy deal.
And other loan deals possibly from Europe.
Still leaves a few quid to get that marquee signing be that a CAM or striker.

On the reverse side of the coin - time is of the essence!

Maybe he'd read that our left back had a hairline fracture and wouldn't play until January, so he upped his wage demands because he thinks he's going to be a starter and Forest won't pay them?

people keep saying this, but I don't understand why we would L2B him, why not just buy him?

Let's hope he sorts it out, get the feeling O'brien is going to be very angry with him if toffolo messes it up.

I think worst case scenario on that front is we have to go back to Huddersfield to renegotiate the fee but I imagine nobody has appetite for that currently. I think all sides are putting pressure on Tofollo now.

One thing the transfers have told us this year is that we like to play hardball.
I guess some people will like that, some won't, but it'll save us money in the long run.
Some of us still remember the days of the TAP, where we seemed to miss out, or end up paying over the odds for players because we couldn't get a collective decision until it was too late...compared to that, a bit of hardball is no bad thing.
