Tbf, glue wouldn't be as far behind the pace of the game as Bachirou was the other day.

Could double his value.

Bachirou struggled a little against Barnsley Alf, but there were others who played worse. Therefore for anyone to completely write him off after one game in a match when the entire team was poor is a bit harsh in my opinion.

Just think we need to be moving away from signing too many of this type.

When we got Colback he almost becomes obsolete because for us to evolve I don't think we want Samba Sow playing too often either. But that will look after itself with his body.

I agree, was just a Jest comment mate. Although I do think he looked off the pace, and don't expect him to do much for a while regardless of quality.

If Arter will be good enough to make the difference then get him. £30,000 per week and all. And that is the question. £1.5 million would seem like nothing if we get promotion.
The issue then is if he's not good enough or we don't get promoted and then he's not good enough, he's here for 3-4 years and that 1.5m turns into 4.5-6m

No signing is without risk, but Arter is proven quality and would walk into our starting XI.

This is true, and I'd rather spend the cash on him than say Bong, but he is 31 at Xmas if we don't go up this season he'll end up being another ball and chain keeping us down.

Then there's other players (Grabban etc) who may end up pissed off that Arter is on more money than them, so want a pay rise.

It's about getting the right balance and 30k for a championship side losing millions per season with no fans is foolish imo.

Depends how it's financed really. If it's funded by the sale of fringe players (let's say we sell Yates and Silva to fund it, for example) then that's fine by me.

Obviously if it's a signing that would put the club in danger of breaching FFP or we'd need to sell a prized asset next year if we don't go up, then we shouldn't really consider it.

We have to trust the guys at the club to make the correct decision, if we lose half the bomb squad then if won't be so bad (although I have a feeling we are just replacing signings from this year with the current ones). As long as players don't get "upset" by Arter being the highest earner as well.

We can’t afford 30 Grand a week but can’t afford the wages for

Bong
Hefele
Benaloune
Jenkinson
Clough
Carvalho

If we estimate on average the above players are on 10 grand a week that’s 3M a year down the drain. I’d argue the average wages of each are higher too.

Don’t worry we can sell Silva and JW to cover it after already pocketing 12M for Cash.

If those players were better they'd be on better wages themselves. Even so, if Arter makes the difference that gets us promotion then those players, assuming they stay with the club, will most likely end up on PL wages instead of Championship wages. If they don't stay with the club and move on elsewhere then they may well attract higher wages off the back of being part of a successful promotion winning team. They really have not got anything to be upset about.

Oh yes!

Massive signing. Could transform our season.

Colback, Arter & Freeman. You won't get a much better midfield 3 at this level.

Now let's frigging use the tools we have!

Great signing well done all involved.

Colback, Arter and Freeman is a ridiculous upgrade from last year, we really need to start picking results up now.
