Harry Arter

It does indeed - Essentially Harry Arter wanted to tell the Manager where he wanted to play and how he wanted to play - If every player tries to dictate where they play and how they play then you have mutiny all over the place.

Arter put in absolutely no effort when he did play. I watched how he played. He was lazy and ineffective. Even his brother in law kicked him out of Fulham after quite a short period.

Harry Arter gave absolutely no indication that he could be productive on all the minutes he played in a Forest shirt - OK results are not going well at the moment. Thats no reason that we should be trying to rewrite what we all saw with our own eyes when Harry Arter pulled on a Forest shirt

The club has a recent history of buying players for a position and then asking them to play out of position. Taylor was purchased to play alongside Grabban but that has not materialised. Football is like any workplace and if people get upset it affects performance

There is a bit of a discord

Seems the Club thinks they can put a squad together then jus bring in anyone and if the Club thinks they have put a decent squad together then anyone should be able to turn those players into a Promotion winning side

But the Club have hired a Manager whose successes have come when he has built his own squads in the past - It is beyond belief that the current manager hasn't even been provided with one striker of his choosing in the 12 months he has been at the Club. It absolutely beggars belief that we have gone into this campaign with no new strikers when last year the biggest problem was scoring goals

The biggest problem last season was creating chances.

Had such high hopes for him when we signed him, never could have imagined that he'd have turned out so bad that a League One side would turn around and say "no thanks, you can have him back". So glad we've moved away from signing expensive ex-Premier League has beens.

Cooper may well be able to make something out of him... But probably even that is too great a task.

If he is coming back to be honest the club should look at some form of mutual release/termination of the remainder of his contract because it's utterly pointless him being here.

I'd expect Dane Murphy and Arter's agent to try and find him another club for the remainder of the season.

It's unfortunate that it hasn't worked out for him at Charlton, but at least he appears to want to play some football somewhere, unlike another long-forgotten high-earner here who is seemingly content to do the bare minimum to comply with his contract obligations, despite on-going problems in the position he apparently operates in.

I would much rather see young Finley in that position (or even Arter's) than that waste of space ever putting on the Garibaldi again.

Give Cooper a chance with him-you never know. I mean look at Colback-hands up those of you that dug him out and said he was the shittest thing since....Harry After whilst then wanking themselves silly when he started playing out of skin and looking like a complete midfielder.

From what ive been told by someone who would know he’s pretty much given up on football and he is quite content to pick up his weekly salary and not play. Unfortunately if Charlton send him back they will no longer be paying a decent chunk of his ridiculous wages and I doubt anyone else will.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we try pay his contract off and he ends up retiring or he just sits around on his current contract but not really part of the squad or even training at Wilford lane.

I think thare should be a bit of sympathy for Arter.
He left Bournemouth following the tragic death of his child, because he ciouldn't contemplate living in the town where there were such bad memories.
I would hazard a guess that he is suffering from mental illness that has resulted in the dramatic loss of any rel motivation or desire to play football.
I think we as fans of forest who had high hopes Arter would give us the midfield edge have a right to feel disappointed at that not being realised, but the trashing of him is unbecoming, and fails to recognise what could be at the root cause of his decline.

Spot on mate. I don't know how I would cope or ever recover if I lost a child. Motivating yourself for a game of football must be extremely difficult in the circumstances. People cope differently, when I lost my dad at the age of 15 I actually went training at Forest just a couple of hours later, it was my way of dealing with it but a child is another matter.

I hope the club support him and I think he might find coaching the young ones more fulfilling if he is struggling as you are doing it for youngsters rather than trying to motivate yourself.

If that is the case, makes you wonder why he since signed for Fulham, Forest, Charton. If he was happy to pick up a wage why bother with Charton at all?
The clubs which signed him need to look at thier processes, and check any players mental capacity before signing them for costly sums.

I understand the point you're attempting to make, but in Arter's case are you suggesting that he should be forensically quizzed about how he has dealt, or is still dealing, with grief in terms of his mental state for playing football?

I'm saying that I'm sure he is still hungry to play football (hence the loan) however clubs need to make signings very carefully. I'm not saying to dicard him due the challenges he and others (Sharp) have faced. The players would, i'm sure, needed to make clear to perspective clubs that they are fine..
